I had posted about a go-kart project a while back but that didnt work out. I want to buy one of those Schwinn Stingray bikes and motorize it. I just need a few suggestions. I was thinking about getting either one of these kits http://www.kingsmotorbikes.com/Engine_Kit1.htm except Ive seen them much cheaper on ebay. Or I would use a HF blue engine. I would have to buy more if I didnt get the kit but I would probobally get better performance. What would you guys recommend?

I think Im probably going with a HF engine, anyone know where I could get a twist grip throttle for one? Also how many CCs are the HF engines?

northern tool has alot of go kart parts and ihave the twist grip from them and it works pretty good

the great thing about northern tool is that they have feedback on every item from ppl leaving feadback on it
just like ebay

Im considering one of those kits. How much difference would there be between an 80cc engine and a 66cc?

How fast do you think it would go if I put one of those kits on a doodle bug/mini bike type thing? Im thinking about building one of those instead of the chopper.

My friend has one of these that hes giving me for real cheap that Im going to use for parts. The motor runs fine. The torque converter is screwed up and it needs a new chain. Im prob just going to use the engine head light and the fake gas tank. not bad for $40

What do you guys think?

Dont Use Kit On Sitngray

I did the same with two schwinn choppers and trust someone with experince in this specific area the kit is not the way to go becauuse the motor mounts are made for a much thinner smaler bike and they dont realy provide power enough to go 20 mph. we built one with a kit and it sucked so the next one had a honda clone with electric start it was 110cc and the thing flys our next one will have 4 gears and a kick start

ya i have 2 of these, they are awsome, they come with a centrifugal clutch, (=slow) but i picked up a couple of torque converters, similar to a snowmobile's driving system, slapped them on and they go about 45 uphill and 50 something down, really fun little guys, the frames on them are pretty solid.

Hey T-BONE I found this video on youtube a few days ago and i remembered your ideas about a motorised schwinn chopper. This one has been fitted with a 49cc engine using a mountain bike derailleur, Also if you go to their profile you'll see the other ones they have also made.
