the good news, ok, so i got my project! i'm ripping that 2-stroke apart (the leaf blower)and re-building it,
here are some links

what do you guys suggest, replaicing (if any thing, other than gaskets). also, how do i get this crank shaft off? is it just pressed into the bearings, and i need to force it out with an arbor press or a gear puller? i can get pics if you want.

p.s. oh ya, once this thing is up and running its going on that little bike in this pic,

i'm gonna run chain drive, and the max i would ever want to go on that thing is like 12mph, so it will be geared pretty low, but hope fully the fact that its only 24cc will prevent it from doing wheelies too easy. main objective here is to have something to put around on, because pedaling this thing, you cant take full advantage of your legs because they are all scrunched up, and make it so that its next to impossible to go uphill, and you cant go faster than 7mph on flat land, if you guys have a better vehicle to put this on please tell me and i will think about it.

r97 if i were you i would do some extreme frame mods, because the bike is so tiny (designed for toddlers)

does your engine have a clutch? its hard to find clutches with sprockets on them.

i KNOW i post way to many davesfarm videos, but this one inspired me to actually make one in the forst place myself.

heh, i have plenty other bikes to choose from, but the dino bike (as i call it) is just... for some reason fun to ride, lol. you can ignore my question about the crank shaft. i'm wayy ahead of you on the clutch thing, i'm planning on finding a cheap pocket bike clutch, and one of these sprockets then welding the two (maybe ill make an adapter if the clutch is aluminim) together and putting it on my leaf blower, then figuring out a ratio (what do you guys think is a good ratio, 25cc (1.3hp?? rpms??), 12" tire, desired max speed, 10-12mph, i was thinking in the 15 to 1 or 20 to 1 range). as for frame mods, i'm not welding on the frame, just gonna weld up a bracket and bolt it on both sides of the axle and the then a clamp on the seat post.

EDIT: i have to put a brake on the rear wheel, because if i use the pedal mounting place as a jack shaft it will disable the back-stop brakes that it currently has.

p.s. thanks for the vid, it had some good ideas

well, a pocket bike clutch wont work with the original clutch housing.

my 43cc scooter/moped/pocket bike (whatever it is) engine's clutch is much bigger than a chainsaw or weedeater clutch.

also they have a 2 bolt pattern instead of screw on

its not the push starting thats the problem, its the, not stopping thing, plus it would be bad on the brakes, of course, depending on the idle rpm(anyone know? top rpm would help too?), it would only go like 1mph at idle. maybe a belt tensioner? prob as much work/cost as a clutch, and more annoying. it has a decent pull start which i wouldn't mind using, i already invested like 45min in re-winding it and cleaning it, so i wouldn't mind using it. hope fully gaskets should get here before the weekend.

p.s. i bought gaskets vs buying them because they (some) were actually pretty complicated

yeah, on a tiny bike like that i dont think bump starting would be too hard aye? wouldnt even need pedles. just weld a bar where the bearing case is or under it (because they make good jack shafts!)

on my scooter project i hope to use my old mountain bike's pedal bearing case as the jack shaft.

as for stopping..... kill switch or let go of the throttle!

pics should be self explanatory, as for the clutch, i may actually consider slipping it, because i don't feel like spending 35+_ship on a clutch. as for jack-shaft, i may have to reserve the pedals for my feet as its challenging to balance with my feet any where other than the pedals.

p.s. like the red-neck magneto test? lol

nice looks just like a weedeater engine

ya right with a drill lol

id bore out that carby.

are you going to take it out of the plastic housing? because then you will need to figure out how to cool it.

i'm not sure about boring out the carb, i would prob mess that up (lol, no drill press), i'm keeping the same air filter/choke assembly. magneto works! actually some of the parts i'm ordering are labeled as craftsman/weedeater/poulan/poulan pro. other than air box, and fly wheel housing/recoil, all the plastic is gonna be gone, i don't think ill have a cooling problem though, the engine was sealed from the impeller. i suppose the way its set up it will only cool 3 sides of the cylinder, but i will be moving.

i guess it will be fine.

for my poulan chainsaw motor i got to put on a scooter im thinking of ways to make a water cooled head, like welding a box around the head and pumping water through.
