oh ya i was thinking about it, and it prob cost me the same to make one of those sprocket clamps as it would to buy one, unless i made a sprocket from scratch

ooh, thats right, i forgot.

id say 20 bucks isnt bad for the whole thing.

itd be pretty hard to make one without a press or lathe anyway becauuse remember you need it to be perfectly allighned and no wobble.

remember? no clutch, direct drive! just gear it low so at idle it moves like 2mph, turn it off if i need to stop, and sprocket clamped directly to wheel so i can still use the pedals to assist the engine/start engine/use coaster brake. ill have a jack shaft in there some where, i will get my ratio once i figure out my rpm range.

ooooh yeah, lol......

so for a jackshaft i suggest using the bearing block of an old bike (where the pedals are...) and attach a second sprocket or something.

and then you could mount it somewhere above the existing one on ur bike.

i'm just gonna use two pieces 1x2 rectangular tubing i have, then drill a 1 3/8" hole in each, pop some bearings in em and i'm good. i got an old bike brake lever and cable, which is the perfect length for the bike. i'm gonna order the piston ring, and get fast shipping if its n ot too expensive. i'm also gonna buy(or make idk) a tachometer. then ill start on my ratio. today i want to hd and sears, yea i was looking at drill presses and air compressors for a while :D, you guys should have seen the snowblower i found!

I need a snowblower, all i got is a shovel lol.

Could you get a chainsaw oiler worm gear for a tach?

I kno a site that sells cable tachs (i think cable)

Good luck with that jackshaft!

i just need a tach for like 5 sec, i found a way to convert a calculator to sorta work as a tach. i re-used one of the old piston rings, hopefully i can get some new gas and oil tomorrow, lets hope it runs!
