I know you said custom intake pipe. But to me it look's like you milled the intake port up ward's cause I cant see any pipe.

This is pipe that was used. This one is not custom, but instead came from Briggs 2 cycle. Without this pipe, carb bolts directly onto reed plate making it straight through.
Without this pipe, engine would not fit mini bike but is fine on kart. Straight through is always better.
Keep in mind that previous pics are for mockup purposes only and is not the final assembly.

Have you given thought to a throttle linkage/cable set-up from an old Honda twin, like my wife's CB 175? It's two cables going up into a slider, with one one more cable coming out to your pedal. You'll have to fine tune the individual cables at the carbs (easy) and then the slide pulls them equally.
Brother Jerry:
Would you have pic of said setup? Perhaps a line drawing of it?
Would appreciate it as I'm somewhat stumped as to how to get this to operate flawlessly. Thanx.

Hey Russ- Here's a quick sketch..... my wife's bike is back together, so it's kinda hard to get a real picture of it. It has 3 separate cables and they all join into a little nylon slider inside a housing about 1.5" long. The two output cables have Mikuni slide carb type "nubbins" on them and the input cable has a larger cycle-throttle type "nubbin". You can buy a longer input cable to suit your application.

Hey Russ,
I considered making a 2 engine beast at one point, however, I was concerned about balancing the Pistons-will you have them set up so both pistons are in the exact same position within the cylinder, or one @ TDC and one at the bottom of it's stroke? So as to balance power transfer to the axle, so you have a constant force rather then a interspersed force? I'm just wondering if it would snap chains, bend axles and the like.

Curious as to what other's think about this.

Braden.

I would not consider using direct drive.

Update:
Received all parts needed (minus piston and rings) and ran into a small problem. I have no way of anchoring left hand engine swing mount to frame. Had to order an extra mounting plate so as to grab onto the seat rail.
Although not needed, a second mount plate will have to added to right side as well to keep things symmetrical.
I expected worse.

Update:
I was hoping that I would have had this running by now.
Piston/rings assembly has been back ordered since 12/6.:mad2:
Really wanted to finish this during vacation shutdown.
In the meantime, everything has been lined up and is proceeding as planned with almost no glitches.

Are you going to gear it a bit taller, to take advantage of the extra hp?
I'll have to see how well current setup performs before making any changes. Still stands at 17 tooth clutch (no options here) and 72 tooth drive sprocket. Works out to 4.25:1. Would prefer 5:1 minimum, but I have to work with what I have.
Hopefully, current low end lag will be minimized by doubling hp.
