Yup, fairly common. Although, I don't see them as often as I used to.

Brother Jerry:Have you given thought to a throttle linkage/cable set-up from an old Honda twin, like my wife's CB 175? It's two cables going up into a slider, with one one more cable coming out to your pedal. You'll have to fine tune the individual cables at the carbs (easy) and then the slide pulls them equally.
If that is too hard to source, you could always use an upper gyro splitter cable from a BMX bike:

I would not consider using direct drive.Hey Russ,
I considered making a 2 engine beast at one point, however, I was concerned about balancing the Pistons-will you have them set up so both pistons are in the exact same position within the cylinder, or one @ TDC and one at the bottom of it's stroke? So as to balance power transfer to the axle, so you have a constant force rather then a interspersed force? I'm just wondering if it would snap chains, bend axles and the like.

I'll have to see how well current setup performs before making any changes. Still stands at 17 tooth clutch (no options here) and 72 tooth drive sprocket. Works out to 4.25:1. Would prefer 5:1 minimum, but I have to work with what I have. Are you going to gear it a bit taller, to take advantage of the extra hp?
