I'd call this a true clone. After looking inside, and the bolts used on it, it's the closest clone to the GX200 I've seen in a while. The carb is cheap but the rest is all Honda.

I tell ya, some people (well most) are just disappointing. They tell ya they'll buy something, say they're gonna show up... then poof! They just fail at everything.

So whilst I'm a'waiting for failures to NOT show up, I get stressed...

I guess it just took the proper motivation, or in this case, lack thereof on humanity's part.

Yea me too, but it would have just ended up a show piece. It was too small to ride effectively. I'll do something down the road mini-bike wise but the Kart Rods continue.

Each one has to be some sort of recognizable thing. Sarge is the military jeep, U51 is the cop car, the Tonka (everyone knows what a Tonka is)

Wonder what's up next?

Of all the ones I've conceptualized, seems few make the cut. I'm at three now... after all this time.

So, the question is, what's recognizable to the general population?

The train, that's next up. Might even make it in time for that build off thingy. Never know.

So, while I clean up things & figure it out, good time for engine inventory & such.

Took a few hours to clean up my predator. Even though I don't "DIG" predators, I'll give this one credit. They had nice smooth castings and the hemi head versions do seem a tad tougher. A quick going through to check things inside and she's still just fine... even after a year or two on Sarge. Zero'd the valve lash and we're good.

And pretty now.

LOL! Unfortunately, that's the funny stuff there. Artistic renditions don't always work out... that, or I just give up and like something else with more pizzaz!

And it's always a moving target. Find the one's that work the best and scrap the rest.

Sarge runs, the first one (urban defiance) ran of course, the rest... are and were, just concepts.

U51 runs and will roll shortly as I've taken a liking to it.

The tonkaR/T will run as I'm just in love with it's look...

And where this all goes next...? I have no idea. I never do.

That frame for 2 engines is in my shed for now. Perhaps it will emerge one day.

Happy day there. You know what people get for those on ebay? A ridiculous amount for strange ones.

I have yet to put one of the three I have on even one ride. I think I'm still caught up in the creation process rather than the mod process after they're done.

I dunno.

On other news, I'm kind of stuck here.

Sellers just never get old. The 4 dollar one even says "vintage" that usually adds money! LOL

Also.. do you think those tonka dozer tread plate thingies could fake a torque support for the clutch? (spanning from the axle-bearing hanger [painted yellow] to the clutch... )
They should at least look like they serve a purpose IMHO..

Update:

Lots of work today starting with some sorting. Seeing SOMEONE seems to like those manco's... I did some switching around. Why? Because HE is right. The TonkaR/T really does need a set.

So, moving this & that around yields a nifty set of 5" fronts & 6" rear DIRT wheels. Suitable for... Every one of my rides.

How handy to have around.

Then it was onto the Tonka... With most things attached now and a few small things to do, we're nearing the end of this one too. (shut it chancer!)

The front clip was a pain to make because it only fits on if you take the steering wheel off... and that's just fine. This thing turned out well. The lines of the chrome/brass trim I used for it lined up beautifully with where things needed to sit.

Then, at the end, seeing I might not use them... except here, those hubcaps. Seeing I made them for the manco's anyway... and they're fricken Yellow... and they appear to be go powers. Might as well go with it. I told myself each one would have a special set... so...

Yea.

Check out what one of the tracks is used for! The dump bed NET! And I sooo love how the engine cover fits the air cleaner housing nearly perfect. Makes it easy and I don't have to make any special air cleaner appendages.

This thing is growing on me and has a certain stance. Thanks for naming it Sid. She's one of the ones that will live on. It just came together perfectly today.

I guess, looks. I'm an artist... sometimes it doesn't have to make sense. The front tank I just sat there to offset the other silver stuff going on. Probably don't need the front one and my daughter told me she didn't like the front one either.

But yes, you nailed it. Either way on the wheels, they work. The caps just screw on... so I'll make sure to put them on when showing this to the purists... Especially seeing they're 6" on the back... which in the vintage world... is like crazy rare. So, as it is with Sarge, they're accessories.
