Well, it's funny how it all works out. There's no room for it. No matter where I put that engine, one thing is hitting something, so the shroud had to go. I'll have to work on a different visual treatment there. For now it'll have to be blank.

Besides, that shroud belongs to something I do plan on revisiting. (cop car uses old school chrome rims when I finish them up... means the turbines on it now... still go to something)

Kart Rods (well, now... ) are based on things people can either recognize or associate with. Sarge=Military jeep, U51=Cop car, TonkaR/T=Tonka, the Train=A train....

and... I'll need a new frame I think.

Update:

Changing directions... but something's just not right. Sure, the Manco's work for the Tonka... but they're a 6 star pattern... and Tonka's didn't have that. They had a 5 star pattern.

So in true form of the kart rods, we're on the trail of some vintage wheels again. This... is gonna take a while. These suckers are a tad rare.

I know where to find some, but finding a whole set is the trick. To be the Tonka R/T, this must happen.

Made by Precision, older than Manco's is about all I know.

I am really digging the Tonka R/T and love how you integrated the air filter into the bulldozer cowling. It's functional now.

Where did you get those fantastic rear tires and what size are they?

On all your creations, the stance and the classic lines of the karts are what is appealing as well as the themes. I would say they're all 'a fusion of new and old' but the flavor is almost 100% vintage...

I dunno, very strange. I've had a set on Sarge for years and nobody's really mentioned them. They wear nice and look great.

On the wheels mounted on the Tonka R/T, did you have to use a spacer on the Manco rims so the wider tire would fit?

Nope, just smashed them together. It was a pain to do, but ya just take a big bolt, and two wood blocks with holes in em... and tighten the nut.
