No way you put this onto sarge...

With an engine like this it would have to be renamed to Lieutenant Colonel,
and that just sounds odd :D

Yea... like I said. We'll see. It's gotta flow with the overall stance or I won't do it.

Well if it is too big I will just keep it and save it for another project I have quite a few different engines and I thought that it might be cool on sarge but maybe not.

We'll see. That engine is 3 times the weight of what's on it now, and much bigger. While it might be cool & all, might just be too big.

Too big? maybe sarge is too small? :D

That would be cool if you could use it on something else... or a new build sometime?

Well, the kart racing season is over... and my daughter took the Championship by 40 points.

Back to kart part collecting & my weird rides.

Time to find that pedal car body me thinks.

Thanks. One of the last races was intense. In the pictures, #11 is my daughter, #99 is her friend and #64 is her nemesis. She only had to be in front of #64 to win it.

In the last race, #99 dive-bombed for the lead and my daughter slipped in right behind her. They freight-trained for half the race, running away from everyone and in the end, it was a drag race to the finish. On the last lap, #99 and my daughter hit the last turn and came out of it neck & neck.

Here's what .009 seconds looks like at the finish line.

Thanks.

Now, on with the hunt for that Flat face pedal car. It's now snowing here so it's really just a waiting game & a whole winter to collect parts.

Ahem...

Continuing on.

Today was just one of those days with nothing planned, so I headed outside & pulled out the tools & stuff for this project. With the kart racing out of the way for the year & put away, I have the room to work on one.

This one, is the one that will have the Flat Face pedal car front end on it ... and a few other nifty things.

The cop idea was cool but there was just something about this one that didn't seem right.

The planned motor is this Briggs with the nifty updraft carb.

Putting the flat face on this won't look right with what I have planned if I keep the side bars. They're going to go away most likely.

So here we are, today. A roller needing throttle linkage, a brake pedal & rod and a seat.

On another site someone said they had one of the pedal cars (a lot of them) and would give one to me. I'll know more soon.

Das it for today.

Thanks for watching.

An update:

On today's menu, a little love for Sarge. She's been sitting for a bit.

A friend of mine had a vintage project, and he'd gotten to the point of giving up on the search for wheels. He's on a fixed budget I think and to get those uber rare wheels were just going to cost him too much.

He emailed me thinking I'm the king of Manco wheels and to keep my eyes open for a set of 5" fronts & 5" rears for a live axle.

He also mentions that a friend gave him a brand new mig that he'd never use and for me to come get it. :)

He's a friend and I can't just go get that welder without giving something in return...

Just so happens I have a set of Manco wheels on Sarge... and Sarge could use a few changes.

So, off with the manco's and I put them aside for him. I also added, 2 vintage Duro tires, brand new for him as well.

Now with Sarge having no wheels, I figured I'd use something I'd gotten a while back. Kick butt steelies, 5" fronts & 6" rears. New tread & all. The fronts are new Chen Shin tires and the back are those 6x6x10 chen shins.

I painted up the rims, put it all together and now something is off.

That spare tire.

OFF WITH THE SPARE I SAY! To my military gear, go now!

Right from the gulf war, a heavy duty bag from my truck and a strap should do the trick.

Yup.

I love the way it looks now with these wheels. The 6" rears are the same height as the 5" fronts so the nifty scrub brakes get to stay there for now... they're just for show anyway.

Although those manco wheels were great and it looked good, I even loved the look, these will do much better. After all, she is an urban street racer, so she needed some killer slicks.

2 Glorious runs today, Sarge still lives on, now cornering better than ever.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks!

Yea, this has me looking back at the adventure of Sarge now.

From pic 1, a sad pile of parts, to where she is now.

Time to build a buddy for sarge I think... and I have another sad sack of crap sitting here. Hm...

Looking good!

I'm not sure I like it better than before... I'd say no atm, but that might change if I get used to it ;)
I think being all jeep'ish and such she should wear some knobbies instead of slicks, but that's just me again :D

So.. UNIT 51;
let us know :D

Cool.

about the knobbies... if I'm ever in a parade in the near future, sure. knobbies wear down so fast, and I've driven it so much that I wanted something that'd hold on a bit longer.

For unit 51, the search has continued for the Murray Flat face pedal car. I've been to swap meets, called every place in town and even tracked down a few leads but they haven't turned up anything yet. Ebay is fun to look at but these people... ew... these people think they're worth their weight in gold. And they're not. I'll find one, just takes time.

Time to play with my new welder & make unit51 a running machine.

More soon.
