Howdy y'all. Just thought I'd do a tiny bit of cross-pollinating and show off my 3rd project, started yesterday.

For those that don't know me, I'm Kelly. I do the kartrods.com site which is really just a personal endeavour and in no way is it a site intended to take away from this great place. Those that do start asking crap like "how do I take a wheel off..." I just send em over here.

The way I figure it... the folks that might build a kart-rod are typically already well informed on the "how to's" of building anything, thus it's not a "how to" site but more of a showoff site for those that are a bit artistic & creative and want a place to either document or show off their special creation.

Over there, we simply take the unloved yard kart and whatever you can scrounge up, then turn it into something holy new with style & attitude. Fun huh?

...then race em if you dare. It's a state of mind really.. a hot rod / rockabilly / industrial / pinup girls attitude type of thing.

Anyhoo, meet the front end of "no name," the third ride and yet another cross between a forgotten POS manco kart and a previous hobby of mine.

Enjoy & thanks for looking.

If you think you're one of us, well pop on over & join up. Not like it's betrayal or moonlighting... LOL

If anyone wishes that I not post here, just let me know.

 The format you've laid out for kartrods MOST DEFINITELY has a place here as far as I'm concerned; there's enough listings here, sh*t, we just have to figure out which forum to list it under!!!!!:cheers2:

Um... Yes. One idea for the back of it. Enter the remains of a baja bug rear clip... perhaps I'll do this one up as a slammed sports car or something. Maybe slap 4 round tail lights back there giving a corvette-ish look. Dunno yet, I make it up as I go along.

It's not hooked on yet or anything, just mocking it up for now.

The motor I think will end up being this briggs intek I have laying around and we'll sink it down behind the seat wedged in front of the axle.

Ah, I just came up with its name. (I name each one btw)

Meet Wedge.

I like the front any more pics?

a little mock up... with some spare stuff I had around.

Briggs in the back, dropped down & centered, and hey, some tri-stars seem to round it out nicely.

More soon, or follow at kartrods.com

Thanks for looking.

I have a plan to build a rod like kart using a cutout wheelbarrow tub for the cockpit and possibly mounting a shaft driven motorbike engine up front to make something that looks a bit like a sixties dragster.
Won't be for a while though. Got no time.

Ha, yet another AmEx  ...with the seat hoop removed...

Dropping the engine looks interesting, I have a few questions:
1. How will you mount it with the axle in the mix?
2. Will there be enough clearance between the clutch & sprocket?

1. Very carefully. Probably a welded something or other.. Dunno yet. At that height, the cyl head & all goes about 1 in over the axle so it does clear it.
2. Barely. (It's why I call it "wedge"... probably should call it wedgie though.)

:roflol: Indeed.

A chopped up Scott Attwater 75 hp outboard motor cover/cowl, circa 1960'ish.

Oh, so, nothing obscure & hard to find then... :worried2:

Update 11-25-12

With a 50 degree day out today, I figured I'd see where I get with this ride...

It's mean, it's green... and that's the only color of spray paint I had handy.

Switched wheels around and VIOLA... Gives it a whole new stance really...

Thanks for looking.

Enjoy...

I dig it.

The UKRF sounds amazing. Kinda like the SFVISBF. I'd be down if any of you SoCal boys wanna start something.

Very cool . I've been reading over your site. I like it . The UKRF sounds awesome . Like street racing for karts. That front end looks great.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Yea, the UKRF thingy would be cool, if anyone actually would do it. Most are just too chicken-:censored: to throw down.
