No its cool. Don't defend yourself. I agree Kelly's vision is all his own, My point was he would not do what someone else has already done.
I was actually the one who posted about Radio Flyer Karts in the past on this thread.

(oh yes, thanks for those comments earlier)

Last night I was sitting here exchanging a text with someone that was selling a manco frame, the wheels and some 3hp briggs for 100 bucks.

I got him to send me pictures of the wheels and just when the last one came in.... he texts me back saying "sorry, I just sold it all."

Really?

Oh well, if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be.

On with Saturday. Saturday was a ton of yard work but I got it all done. I'd just sat down with dinner when the exact same kart shows back up on the local ads saying "he's going a different direction" Same price, same everything. (this, is the **(%$ that stole it from under me last night)

So, I shot a text off offering to buy the wheels (which is all I was after in the first place) and, 50 bucks later... (hey, it's worth it, these are perfect condition)

Here we are, more wheels... and that means the train (the only ride I'd ever use 4" anything on) now has a full set of manco's...

Those wheels are cool. I still have those 6 and 7(or something like that) halves. I never figured it out, it's just the 2 halves... Is there need be a spacer in there? If is that just for fitting a wider tire?

They never made a spacer for the manco wheels. You can smash a pretty wide tire on em if you want to but most of them are inherently weak. Only the first versions were reasonably tough.

I'm not going to say much as I'm wiped out, plain old tired... but I think these two are coming along nicely.

It was one of those days when things just fell into place.

that cylinder head needs a plug,
and I think I liked the engine compartement on page 84(ish) better..
simply because it was more confusing and less "predictable"...

But it's WIP.. so I'll sit back (as if you hadn't noticed ) and watch

I know I know... had to make it functional first... then we'll "pretty it up" with a mess of confusing stuff.

And yes, plug and wires will go in that other fake cylinder head.

It'll be a mess of weirdness, trust me.... just had to get the functional parts in place.

Long ago, when I did a different thing in life, I did have a small collection of certain items.

This one, quite unique actually. The rest of the contraption was non functional but I held on to the top of it... because it was cool and has threaded mounts inside.

It once appeared on Bonneville Spirit but on a whim today I tossed it on and... and it Rules. Now for a little inner workings on it.

It was the top, of this. A nifty combination spot light with handle, and mirror in the back side.

It seemed to match all the other ribbed things going on.

Update: Only one more day off and my list of crap to get done that's grown over the last 10 years... is done.

Even though this is a trailer, it's the Kart Rod's actual hauler.. thus, it's relevant. 4 of em can fit on this thing that I've built over the years, addition by addition... just like my rides.

Took some time today to add some things I've wanted since we have an actual race trailer now.

Some suring up here & there and a little upper rack now.

This was a boat trailer long ago, then our makeshift racing trailer. It has coil springs & shocks. It rides like a dream... the rest of the framework on top... are box spring frames. (yes, bed frames) They're strong... and usually something people throw away... so free, or nearly free.

Hey, gotta have a nifty hauler to take them out to the desert track.

One more addition to make soon. I have 3 old 12" vintage boat trailer rims with special baby moon hubcaps, NOS. That'll round it out, then a few goofy stickers & stenciling should finish it up.

Oh man you cut up that spotlight. Those usually sell in the $100-$500 range on flea-bay, at least when I'm looking for them.

I never destroy vintage items, That's just the top of the light, it comes apart. I know the value of vintage boat spotlights, bow lights, etc.

How does one determine what the better ones are?

The sides are twice as thick, or you can usually tell by the bearing hole. If there's three "nubs" that keep the bearing from going in too far, those are the newer ones. If there's a solid ring, those are usually tougher.
