I just bought one of those electric start kits myself. Waiting for it to arrive. And my GX200 clone block DOES have the mounts under the flywheel for the coil and starter.

the hubless rear wheel is cool, no doubt. but how many teeth will the sprocket be to keep the clean spokeless look of the design? 300? thats one huge sprocket. nice job by and large. are you going to redo (redesign) the seat? hate to see you sup it up, only to get thrown off the seat and into the tire. that would be a very bad day, indeed

about the rear wheel i don't understand what you are saying. this bike has a normal single piece wheel and hub for the rear tire.

in regards to the seat, i totally agree! i was just thinking today how much it would suck to fall off the back of the seat and land on the tire. ouch! but for this reason and also because i think it will look good i will be installing a rear fender at some point in the not to distant future!

even with a fender, would it not be better to make the seat sink a bit more in the middle. basically so it has a 'backsplash'.

got the brakes done! and i have the foot pegs on but not totally welded yet.

i went for a 45 min cruse around the neighborhood today. i love riding this thing! its so smooth and has hard acceleration from 0 to 40ish. my neighborhood is great for riding this bike. i actually had a whole family come out on there go karts and the dad came out and rode his 4 wheeler. he was so impressed with my bike he made his wife come out to see it(she was not that excited lol)

next on my list is a fender for the back tire a exaust pipe, then clean up the welds and give it a paint job.

That looks soooo awesome!! Perhaps when you get it painted you could get it powder coated chrome (yes, there is such a thing as chrome powder coat) that would look so awesome! It would last for ages and probably wouldn't cost to much.

Paint the engine cover matt black maybe with some pin striping, thats how I would have it .

I've got some of that chrome spray paint, basically you need what ever you pianting polished to pretty much a mirror finnish and then several coats of paint for it to look even vaugely like chrome, even then, it didnt last very long and scratches soooo easily. I've tryed a couple of different brands of chrome spray paint and got pretty much the same result

Try powder coating, you will probably have to buy a bag of powder coat which costs about AU$70 from memory( thats in australia, its probably like half the cost in America.) but then you've got bag that and you coat anything you like in the future with it. I love powder coat, it lasts forever, theres no overspray lost, its difficult to scratch, not too expensive ect ect.

And you also need a powdercoat oven big enough for a bike frame. Powdercoating at home is really only feasible for parts that are small enough to fit into an old oven (don't try to do it in you kitchen lol).

I have been following your project and I'm very impressed with what you have accompolished. The exhaust might look good with black heat wrap and it would provide some protection also.
I have a Schwinn Chopper that is going to be a winter project and i intend to use some of your ideas.

powder coat is good, but it can and does chip. you need an oven to bake the nylon pellets to get a smooth finish. some guys i know said there's a shop in houston that gives a lifetime warranty on their 'coat jobs.

You can but it will probably cost you an arm and a leg. Chroming places are getting rarer and rarer these days too. If you can though, do it!
