yea i know. happens to me all the time... so since i dont have a tranny and tcase i could use with the 4.3 thats out. as i dont want to spend close to 1000 on it when i could just get a working vehicle for that much

Considering all things including your budget, it is my opinion that you have no choice but to either rebuilkd your current engine, or replace it with the exact same type. A 4x4 driveline is not "cheap" or particularly easy to alter, as many components must be successfully married. The only way I could see you coming in well under $1000 with a complete Blazer driveline is like you said- a free or cheap donor truck, and NO paid labour.

yea. could just try and source a 3.1/3.4 get alittle more power than the current 2.8 and really no extra work besides switching some thing over and droping it in

since you got the engine unseized you may want to see about getting it running to make sure everything works before you go dumping too much money into it. if it was my vehicle i would just drive it as is if you can get it running and save up to do exactly what you want. no point in half a$$ing the job and not being happy with the results.

why not modify the stock 2.8 and put 5:12 gears

where would the 5:12 gears go? in the diff?

a cummins uses a engine block heater for cold starts when its cold but they use nothing to help them start in the clinder i no the difference between direct injection and indirect and a good deaisil engine doesnt use glow plugs

I've been following this post for a little while and I don't want to side with anyone because I know absolutely nothing about diesel vehicles but please stop before you make yourself look like a complete idiot. Use spell check if you can't spell certain words and just stop arguing. None of these people want to argue with you and they obviously know what they're talking about. To add to that the thread starter doesn't even want to run a diesel in his Jeep so don't thread jack, diesels aren't even relevant to the subject so you may know a bit about diesels but there's no reason to bring them into this conversation.

I know it's not my place to say anything but It's just my opinion.

You'd have to purchase two ring and pinion sets, one for each axle. This is not a cost effective solution, as you could easily blow $1000 on that alone. Specialized measurement equipment is required to set the gear lash, and the pinion preloads. Sometimes, even a case spreader is required.

i has a v6 currently in it it was running fine before a blown head gasket running fine even after it. it was running so it it sealed its self

yeah but havent any of yall drove in trucks or any thing else that has a v6 in it and when you try to accelerate your motor revs to like 5000-6000rpm

That's because it's a higher reving engine. Generally speaking, the fewer the cylinders, the higher the rpm the engine is designed to operate at. Why? Less rotating mass, less torque, easier to get to higher rpm.

Aside from that, a good v6 can outrun a mediocre v8 any day.

I'd recommend doing a little research rather than blabbering useless nonsense in poorly typed paragraphs...
