Ehhh chokes no big deal for me I pull start the thing anyhow so I can just use my hand a perfect that’s exactly what I was lookin for. Imagine I can find those at average part stores?
I made that from scrap bits lmao so not likely. The bolts are the cable pinch bolts from an old pair of Roadbike C-brakes (already had the cable holes) and I forget with the steel tab was off of.

I have a personal rule, don't buy what I can make. If I have junk I can make work, I don't need new parts. Almost anything can be almost anything else if you need it to be.

I'm constantly making some brackets, clamps, or adapter... Im a true to the definitition of a Rat Rod builder like that.

Don’t know if it’s just a matter of tunning it just right to turn over or possible vacuum leak or spark plug possibly? Gas tank I ordered came with one so I changed that out it looks the same an screwed right in. May not be problem at all just throwing out changes I made.

In the states we say “fix it” and that sound so hacky...

In the uk they say ”service it“ and that sounds so much more proper. Before hurting yourself pull the four bolts and throttle cable off.

give the whole engine a good cleanup/service/fix and it should be fun for a long time.

It’s got a new slide carb right?
Did you try opening the throttle a bit when starting.

Give it a slight crack open. Not a full whack, just a little crack (25%). Or adjust the idle speed screw so that the idle is high (when drive wheels not on the ground so it doesn’t take off). See if it’ll start with the throttle opened up a wee.

when in doubt, more throttle.
If the kart drives itself away, that was too much throttle and not enough jackstands.

Lmao yes slide throttle to top it of the medal ring that clamps around the needle slide is currently lost on my back porch now too 🥵 gonna sweep area up a pray I find it. But there is also a plastic ring that clips under that ring I still have wonder if I’d be ok. are you familiar enough with these Amazon “mikuni” knocks off carbs

Both the needle circlip, and the circlip retainer are critical to function because without the circlip the needle basically falls down the main and plugs it entirely which is bad, and without the retainer the throttle response goes to $hit because the intake velocity will jam the needle in place which delays the deceleration and can lead to an extremely dangerous situation.
(some use a spring clip that grabs the inner walls of the slide for a retainer, others use a "Pac-Man clip" wich is essentially a slotted washer, other still use an odd circlip that is both clip and retainer integrated as a single part)

I'm familiar with motorcycle type carbs, mostly Keihin. Functionally speaking there is no difference between a VM22 and a PWK24 they tune by the same exact methods as do the majority of slide carbs.

I prefer the PWK because it is physically impossible to put the slide in wrong because its a D-slide, where as with a round slide like the VM, as well as the, PE, PZ, and a most other carbs can be installed wrong by 180° rotation effectively jamming it wide open since the idle screw ramp ends up on the wrong side of the body.

The first thing you need to is find or replace the missing clip and retainer.

Then you have an actual chance of making it run properly

Maybe if it’s easier to find, perhaps a 1/16” ID E-Ring Clip might work if you really need 1.5mm ID

Sounds like my neck of the woods. I've not tweaked my back ripping the cord, by my 208 did try to dislocate my shoulder once.

If it is the needle clip, I think they are called e-clips on the ones I use. And I’m not sure if they fit universally.
E-clip yes and if it fits, it sits they are very universal since they seem to have a pretty standard thickness by diameter.

I’m still hurting from slipping on ice. I thought I busted a rib, but x-rays were negative. It’s like once you cross the age of 40, injuries linger for ever.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
Do you remember which slot the clip was in. I think needles have 5 slots. I’d probably start in the middle slot if unsure.

I have a couple of stainless steel tire chains like that for my feet. They’re cool, but when you accidentally step on someone’s foot you kind of sever their toes! :smiley_omg:
