You really have to cover your projects. Even if it is just with a tarpaulin.

Glad you got it going though! :D

Hemi or not, doesn't make a terrible difference. Kartfab dyno'd both types, and found that the non-hemi makes peakier power, and the hemi makes a broader powerband.
Broad powerband is desirable, as the ideal power curve is a straight linear line, but if the only mod is a *cough* BYPASSED(;)) governor, a non-hemi would fill the bill just fine.

I wouldn't be surprised is the hemi is better for highly modded 212s(think Mopar 426 Hemi, Ford Boss 429 Semi-Hemi, the cylinder heads had a lot to do with why they could outrun almost anything).
But it's Achilles heel (stock) are the one piece valve spring retainers, which can drop a valve and really screw things up. Otherwise, I'd take a hemi any day.

I prefer the wedge heads run with flat top pistons (hemi and ut2 honda) with little to no gasket

Gives plenty of valve clearance , and stupid high compression

The combustion chamber is huge on the hemi, already compensated for the flat top piston. You have to remove alot of material enter the danger zone , then valve clearance /geometry is an issue

The non hemi has a taller deck height, meaning that if the same parts were put into either that the non hemi would have the piston deeper in the hole. That opens up more options for a longer rod, and or stroke. Rumor has it that the non hemi blocks are stronger too.
Be that as I may, chances are good that I’ve bought my last predator as I’ve been very impressed by the tillotson offerings.
