I just bought my first kart BACK!

Glad to see it running budgetspunkmeister! I'm curious as to what not this tie rods are properly oriented on your steering rod though. Lots of times when you see a steering shaft setup like yours it's designed for Ackerman geometry. I'm not particularly good at explaining it as others do a better job but a lot of times the tie rods will be installed kinda crossed over to employ this technology. Something to look into if you want.

*brain has a death* huh i have no idea what you mean i didnt change the tie rods the old ones looked like short yerf dog ones and the previous owner broke them so i get crazy drift angle at full lock its great i need to record a drift video the others where different but its still a cool kart

I dont have $ for tie rods and im working on getting 2 other karts running because they are more completed also i think the manco 445 is awesome too

JTSpunkWagon is finally here!
My kart did not finally kill me, in fact I've been having a blast on it lately.
I didn't see this thread until now since I was camping at Big Bend National Park with a bunch of Scouts for a week.
I don't want to confuse my family by cracking up, but I am laughing my head off inside!

I think JTSpunk is a mechanical genius at this point. His kart can't kill him, only he can (driving over a cliff?) because he's pretty adept at wrenching. I must say I'm impressed.

I'll try not to let it get to my head.
I started with helping my dad maintain our old Camry that's now sold. Then I stepped up to fixing stuff on my own by cleaning/partially rebuilding a Lawn Boy mower carburetor, and of course I got into go karts and jut let loose!
Although BGK does have the high ground of having more running projects than me, I do believe I do things a bit more thoroughly.(No offense Trevor, but I really wish you'd stop bypassing governors and trying to go 55 mph+ on a minibike.)
BTW- Sometime soon I'm going to pick up my grandpa's GoPro, so y'all will get nice footage of me terrorizing the neighborhood!

Well another engines gov bypassed another day. I just made a thottle linkage sorta for my honda 5hp and bypassed the gov LOL also had to cut a thing off the shaft ill make a thread about it. also i ive built 1 mini bike and a whole bunch of go karts from junk piles into running junk piles. then sold them and about to sell another pile of junk for 200$ to buy more junk. yay! also i may be getting an old vert foxbody stang, but im waiting for a response he said he might trade for my air r50 scooter because the mustang has a broken tie rod and high idle. And its a v6 four eye

I maintain my car my familys cars and my neighbors cars. lol my neigbor crashed his honda accord i am fixing it for him needs a, headlight, and taillight, fender, bumpers, rad support, and more. also i work on my olds and our van and ferd escort. also if things go right ill get me a vert v6 foxbody stang. Not to brag or anything of course. I just dont really show it much. I also have a manco 445 i tore apart and gonna get tie rods and fix it. i have to get my 420cc yerfdoge running it wont stay running for some odd reason i think its valve lash. because they where way too tight and now too loose. but i also maintain my fleet of engines my 8hp briggs (carb needs rebuilt). 196cc baja (junk), 5hp honda ( score!) and i have bks ground hawg (sorta runs). and of course my coleman ct200u ( runs great) and og bgk ( has a p212 runs and drives great). I think jt spunk really studies his engine and yes i do sorta rush stuff but at the end of the day i wanna have fun ya know.

Im afraid of ruining my engines completely and usually i leave them in because i have freinds and brothers so i un bypass the gov for them so they feel comfy riding them. a stock 212 on my yard kart has to be turned down with the throttle screw or noone will ride it too fast.

And SpunkBudget you are correct, I do study my engine quite a bit. I also want to have fun at the end of the day, but I do that with delayed gratification.

I take care of my stuff and i do things right but budget is in my name so i do some jank things sometimes. but ive seen some REALLY jank things done trust me like thin threaded rod as mini bike axels without a kill switch or brake. And i really dont care if an engine blows up i can go get a 212. and no my 420cc subaru doesnt have it bypassed but i may have to make a new throttle because it doesnt work. also my honda engine needs oil badly.

Its not a matter of the engine blowing up... honestly we mostly dont care.... what we do care about it the potential damage it can do to you or someone else...

Its an internal combustion engine, coupled to a machine that is capable of going 45MPH+, with about a gallon of gasoline+some oil, with a safety limiting device that isnt in proper working condition.... if anything its about the safety of others if you dont exactly feel for your own safety...
