I am wondering what the 2 bolts that hold the rear wheels on are called that are on a non live axle go kart

I got a live axlr frame, but it turns out the axles are expensive, so I'm going to grind the plate off and weld it to the left and just have a single wheel drive but I can't find the part that holds the wheels on.

what else would I need
I'd probably get new bearings too

If your kart already has a 1" live axle
...then, your driven sprocket
...& brake drum (or rotor) should be still usable

* Depending on "if" you can get them off of, the old axle
...& what kinda condition they are in

Look around their web site
...it has TONS of go kart stuff

If you are riding on gravel or dirt, single wheel is gonna suck. Stick with the live axle, its what the frame was designed for, its way less of a headache.

the biggest problem with the axle I have is that it has 2 wheel adapters welded on the end so I cant put a sproket or break on

I think someone has already recommended returning that axle
...& get something else
...so, I won't repeat it

How about a pic of the kart you're working on
...also, something someone has already recommended ;)

* Spoiler Alert:
both are good ideas :cheers2:

You've got a little jackshaft there, I don't see why this can't be made to work as is. Can you remove/replace the sprockets on the jackshaft?

Thanks...we loves us some pics

If you notice, most karts keep the "wheel track" in the front & rear about the same

So, the first thing, IMO is that the rear axle, shown in the pic, seems to be a bit too wide :ack2:

* Another check mark in the "return it" column ;)

Well...I would first do some research & planning
...& "see" how the numbers come out

The axle "kit" pictured seems to have
...the axle
...a set of bearings
...& a sprocket mount

Do you already have wheels for the rear? (rims & tires)

If so, do they "fit" the bolt pattern, of the wheel mounts, on that axle?

First, (before buying anything) figure out what else you may need to "make that axle kit" work
..."think everything thru" (we can help...if necessary)

Next, figure out & add up (we can help...if necessary) what it would cost to buy all of the parts to start over "fresh"

Then, analyze the data (we can help...if necessary)
...& "see" which "plan" would be most "cost effective"
...&/or easiest to "do" :2guns:
