Past month and a half has been way too crazy...even the past year and a half. One thing is for sure, I do not wish this kind of year on anyone. In a way, I've hardened enough to endure this kind of thing.
Anyway about a week ago, I dug out my old knock off chopper bike (bicycle) I had chosen when I was younger in my hometown's D.A.R.E bike-a-thon, that's mainly ran by the Rotary club and police department. 7 1/2 miles through parts of Prior Lake, starting and ending at Lakefront Park.
The whole thing is to raise money to help prevent drug use and gangs in youth...how effective the thing is, is up for debate. Anyway, I pulled the bike out of the weeds of the backyard so I could take measurements off of it, for potentially using it as a vague template for a mini bike; either before or after I make a go kart.
The front forks were bent in, from my own stupidity and possible anger, don't quite remember as it was a long time ago (10+ years). I do remember that I bent them by running into my dad's workbench. Cheap metal. It was built during the craze for bicycle choppers, probably from the popularity of American Chopper on TV, with Orange County Choppers.
The bike lacks front brakes and only has the rear brake that is operated by reversing the pedals. It's not a bike you could really stand on to pedal, due to design and it was a pain to get going, especially up hill or even continuing up hill. It did have a rear fender at one point and a chain guard as well as a rear tire kickstand...all of which I removed for whatever stupid reason. The tires are flat, because about 6 years ago, my idiot of a "friend" told me to put screws in the tires so I can go on ice better.. needless to say he was full of malarkey.
