They give me Tylenol for fever. Last night a Tech came in and took my vitals. My temp was 104.2 or something. He took it again and and got the same reading. My nurses come in...(the two put together are still dumber than a box of crackers) ....the little Asian one says my room is hot and goes over to the thermostat....The big Jamaican pulls all the covers off me.

While they are doing this...I grab my 32 oz mug of icewater and consume mass quantities. Now, they've been in the room less than three minutes....You just KNOW resetting that thermostat has really dropped that room temperature in under two minutes.... And exposing bare skin to 70° room temperature...well...you can just imagine how much core body heat is being dissipated in a remarkably rapid fashion in a minute or two.

So incredulously, this big Jamaican points the probe at me...I say: "You can't do that, I've been drinking icewater! " So she sticks it under my armpit and when it comes out near normal....says :" See?"

So....I'm not gonna argue with stupid...just want them to go away before they really screw something up. So , it's still awhile before I can redose the Tylenol anyway. After 30 minutes in a cold room with no blankets, I call for a Tech ....102.6°. Now that is a little more believable scrub rate...So I asked for a Tylenol....I don't even want to go there...I NEVER GOT IT!!!!

HECK YEAH! Doc came by and asked how the new medicine was doing. I said I didn't know I had one. He said he told me he was going to give me a new medicine. I said yeah, but nobody told me you had or what it was. I haven't tried it yet but it's basically a migraine headache medicine.

But MORE importantly, I mentioned I was still on that heart healthy diet...and he said he would fix it...and my nurse just said she saw I'm on the general diet! !!! Besides getting some real salt, real eggs, and better tasting stuff.....I GET REAL COFFEE IN THE MORNINGS.

I texted my neighbor to see if he had seen Sammy...(he had let him out but hadn't seen him in a while.....I told him Sammy was funny that way...he was probably watching HIM...and Sammy would hide from me like that) ...anyway...he said he finally saw Sammy last night, and he hoped he was getting the food he was leaving for him on the front porch, and not some other cat. I told him if Sammy is around, I guarantee you no other cat is getting his food.

Been there. When I was 10, I got infected by a mosquito carrying LaCrosse encephalitis. Had a fever and was puking my guts up every few minutes. Couldn't keep fluids down. Spent about a week in the hospital. They thought I caught Malaria and could not visit my friends. This was after I was out. Not sure how long after they found out it was LaCrosse but I think it was from the spinal tap they did on my 2nd night there.

Doctors told my parents had I not come in for another 3 days, I would have been dead. This was around the time of the West Nile scare here in Minnesota. LaCrosse encephalitis only affects a small number of people, think less than 100 per year. Least I got to skip school lol.

Do we need to call the doctors there and tell them to hurry the he// up with your prognosis already so you can go home? Is there at least decent tv in your room or is it all crap?

Ok....I officially do NOT have tuberculosis. My nurse flung the hallway door open a little while ago. Still probably here a couple of days while they appraise or adjust my IV antibiotics effectiveness on my pneumonia.

Maybe going home Monday. Was missing a package from Amazon and my mail. I finally tracked it down to the lady across the street. She's been putting it inside my back door.

So then...I found out she's been letting Sammy in and out and giving him food inside and water outside. She says she starts across the street and before she can get to the driveway Sammy comes running out of nowhere. ....rubbing her and her mom's ankles ....being really friendly....(she treats him with the occasional can of moist food).... double dipping little suck-up!!!:lolgoku:

Yeah....meanwhile, still got this super pneumonia to deal with.

My mom may be in the hospital before I get out. My sister in law wanted her to go last night...her blood oxygen was low and her diabetic numbers high....my mom said she was going to go but layed down and fell asleep and didn't wake up until 5:30 am.

Geeze Doug, don't they have real doctors down there? Glad you don't have consumption though. Pneumonia still is nothing to screw with. Good luck.

Even the Mayo clinic doesn't have real doctors. They couldn't figure out why my mom's legs would get darker. Doctor near the hospital where my mom is at now, knew that it was hemochromatosis (too much iron in the blood). It was a specialist....not some overpaid doctor at the Mayo.

Just saying, people put way too much hope in the Mayo clinic. Just because they are a top standard in the world, doesnt mean they are that great. Guess YMMV.

New nurse this morning. First words: "Wow! Your bed is TOO high! " Nope....I say, your windows are too high. Then I say: "Watch this!" I flip off the covers, swing my legs over the edge, sit there, then just stand up with no hands , sit down, swing my legs back in and pull over the covers. "See how easy it is for me to get in and out this way?"

" That's because you're too tall." No...it's because your beds are too short. She hasn't tried to lower it and hasn't said anything else. They're learning....easier to let Poboy bend the rules than fight him.

But what prompted me to post this is what she put on the marker board under 'Your Plan of Care':

* Pain management

*IV Antibiotics

*Safety
