Well I guess technically since the needle is in the middle position it would be 133? +3?
That needle is for the transition from low to high. Moving it up or down will affect the pull off the line

I have to say, seein yours, and the 1 I have, it's definitely a hard hitting lil engine, that mid range is crazy 🤪 fast.

Hey don't forget, you have a stock rod, 😆 🤣 😂 😄 .

What's that plug look like????

It is deffinetly a noticable difference even over the predator 224, lol ill hit 8k with the stock rod you watch haha, that video was the rip with the 130 main so that lean plug out of the 2 was just from that rip

Right at about 9:30 in the video you can see how hot the exhaust was it was smoking pretty good i guess it was hot because it was lean?

The plug will tell you.

I havnt even mentioned,.....I tune from cylinder head temp.

You're gonna be shocked what temp these turd motors run at.

Jus a hint.....it's not even warm at 290*.
Oil temp will tell you that, 😆 😜 😂 🤣 😉 😄

Ok swapped back to the 135 main and moved the spring finally to the less tension side, hit 56mph but only got up to 6100rpm will take a pic of the plug here in a few when it cools down, i did notice this run i was averaging around 50 or so in the normal flat areas where I think i was saying last it was staying around 45-46mph

Maybe a hotter plug too?
It's still lean on the low and high side.

Plug gap .027"-.030"

You can move the needle and adjust the low speed mix screw to help the low side.
When the ground strap is blistered white, it's over heating the combustion chamber, more fuel will cool it down and start changing the plug color.

A hotter plug will make it more white.

When you moved that spring, it goes into high sooner, You should see a big increase in mph, until it's outta the powerband, the mph will still go up, but not as fast.

Where do you think the powerband it's at now, peak torq and peak hp????

This 1 seems to me, to be at 3600-5200, but it's still got the stock air box and carb. After 5200, it noses over, mph still goes up, it's jus alot slower going up.

This 1 rips outta the hole like a phat girl at a buffet during closing, 😆 🤣 😂

But I use the regular 30 series driver and got 3000 rpm stall springs it.

I'd say the front tires would be off the ground with 3600 rpm springs. And that would make it really hard to handle on the trails.

Keep tuning, you will find that sweet spot.

Here's the bp9es plug outta this 224 after the coil change.

You want the edge to be black like this, but the porcelain a light to medium tan.

This 1 is fine on the low side, but needs .002" - .003" more on the high side, to give me that tan color.

I've gotta .675" carb coming, so really no need to keep tuning this 1. 20231012_185843.jpg

That's about what I was figuring, with the bigger carb, header, and port work.

Here's what will get you faster outta the hole, and up in the powerband quicker.

I perfer the regular 30 series driver with aluminum weights and 3000 rpm springs.
