Dang but then i still have a stock piston, would my flywheel swap over?
It's a clone taper crank/flywheel, it'll bolt right on.

Your rod will too.

What's the number on the flywheel???

With a new engine, you get a new cylinder, piston, and head.

A stock dished piston is better then 1 with dipples in it.

You will need that DUCAR-TK throttle kit, unless you wanna run that slide carb,..... I wouldnt, but that's me.

Don't be surprised when that stock ducar 224 out pulls that pred 224 with the slide carb, fancy air filter, and you don't even wanna get me talking about that lazy slow ramped cam you have, ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜œ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿ˜‚ .

I'm gonna order 1 just to check the clearances on it. Waiting on a return message about what cam they are using in it, and what the CR is.

I sent the message about 10 mins after they closed for the weekend.

No hurries, I got plenty of stuff to tinker with.

Not hating, to each his own.

We've tested over 20 cams with the same test engine, gearing, stall, tach, speedo, and stop watches.

I won't be recommending it, sorry.

I probably won't be hearing from Dyno Cams til monday.

I let you know what they say about the 224.

It dont really matter what they say, I'm sure I'll be changing things anyway.

Yea, those dimples will lower lower the compression ratio by about .0000001%.
I think im more worried about structural integrity and all those other things like hotspots, destroying my cylinder wall etc...

My point is those dimples wonโ€™t hurt a thing. Just make sure the rings move freely in the lands of the piston. Why spend money you donโ€™t have to? The dimples will fill with carbon quickly and all will be right with the world again.

Here's some important info about the 224 crank and aftermarket cam clearances.

Dyno Cams has cams that are ground for the 224.

I perfer Isky Racing Cams. They hit so much harder down low.

The Black Mamba Jr cam is whats in my 224, but i had in out at least a dozen times jus to get .030"-.040" clearance.

But always check the clearances when swapping ANY cam in the 224.

I recommend running the Ducar 224 stock outta the box for at least 10 hrs, before swapping carb and rod. Getting every thing broke in good, a few oil changes and see how you like it 1st.
