HELP I got a go kart with 169cc engine

I got a go kart with a 169cc suburu engine and I would like to change it for a predator 212cc. Is it the same build plate size so I can just bolt it in and not have to change anything?

For the most part it is...

keep the robin subaru on a shelf as a backup engine.. it'll outlive several predators
(and with 6.5horses it's not even less powerfull than a stock predator)
there's just no aftermarket modding parts for one really...
but left stock, it's about as good as an engine can be;

So yeah, if you want it to be reliable, keep the subaru as a backup just in case

Yes they are almost all the same for 212 196 and most lower cc engines

I'd build it and thrash it. You'd likely put more $ into it to fix it enough to get half your money back. I know my dingo of similar build with a 212 clone does over 40mph with only a governor delete, I don't remember it's ratio off hand but it's running 18" rears too.

Lights require a battery that you will pull off and charge or an engine with a charging system. I wouldn't pay more than 180 for that go kart. That's if the subaru will run off starter fluid.

He has it posted for 300. Lowest he can go is 200. And it has a tourque converter. The sticker says it's a red fox LXT and its extended

Extended as in a stretched frame? Ultimately it's up to you, I think $200 in that condition is quite a stretch, entire frame could be crooked like the stretched dingo I picked up, and have since parted ways with. Without knowing the owners fabrication skills $150 is probably a high offer.
