HELP! Go kart wont go forward

Well I did not buy it brand new, its an 08. I flipped it last Monday and it broke the chain off so I bought a new chain. So, maybe when I flipped it, it loosened it up and I was riding on rough terrain when the kart quit moving ( when the key fell out )

there should be a grub screw(a tiny screw with a hexagonal hole in it)

u need to put BLUE loctite on it and do it up tight

u must use the blue stuff
the red stuff is for industrial purposes and super strong

was there a bolt at the end that you had to take off to get to the keyway?

yup, rotate the driven by hand while holding the jack shaft steady until the two slots line up, then insert the key as far as it can go, then hold the driven stationary while trying to push the key in and begin to roll the kart forward until you can push the key in further into the sprocket.

before doing that make sure there is no broken piece of a key or any debris in the key way that might stop you from inserting the key all the way. also find a way to keep this from happening again. if you have them, loosened, or missing set-screws are a likely culprit, us lock-tite to remedy this.

the grub screw should screw down and locks it in

there might just be a hole in yours as the grub screw may have fallen out

is there a little screw on the top that would push down on the keyway. if so that would hold it in

spin the tc so the slot is at the top

look down at it and
there should be a little screw or a little hole in the outside of the driven

there will be the same srcew in the driver in a simmilar spot
also the sprockets have the same screw

I dont see a hole where I could screw a bolt into to hold the key in. I guess I will have to loosen that nut until I see a bolt hole.

the nut on the jack shaft should be threaded right up against the driven pulley, if you can get a key in and out of the keyway without removing this nut, then that is likely how the key fell out.

you should remove the nut, insert key, then re-thread the nut (it should be a nylock-nut) until it is up against the driven.

this information is based off my TAV2, if you have a different model TC your results and procedure may vary. if your still confused about what exactly to do, pics would be helpful, but you should be able to figure it out on your own.

If it is not there does anyone know what size bolt this should be. Would it be under the nut?

some models of TC do not have set screws (AKA grub screws), so if you see no tapped holes in the sprocket or driven, do not be alarmed.
