Our toilet work totally different to yours but, if you're referring to the direction water goes down a drain, yes; it's all to do with the earths magnetic pull.

When I was in "the states", one of my friends had a saying. Everytime we saw someone do something that we thought was strange he would simply say "these yanks are weird" in his best American accent

His biggest mistake was saying that in Canada

Water will flow the other way if it is drained from a bucket (As if a bucket is filled and there is a hole in the bottom). Under forced conditions (i.e. a toilet flush) it will go the way it is designed to go.

I think it has to do with the earth's rotation, not its magnetic field.

You are (mostly) correct about the rotation. It is called the Coriolis effect. Check out this demonstration ~

We had a few pm's about cars before nodroz. You have a similar taste! Btw its a golf, not a polo. The old polos are rarer, but pretty awesome too! Its a 1.3. Makes around 60hp.
Can't wait to drive her to school everyday!

Edit: Gunna get a new seat, £38.12 delivered.
Not too bad, needs a little cleaning up. But then all the seats will be practically mint, and the interior will be very close to mint, when I have a radio, bought some proper dash screws (some were wood screws ) and got a few chrome and wooden goodies, she will be close to as good as new! haha!

Is the 1.3 the smallest you could get with that car? I cant imagine anything under 60hp being safe for a car.

haha only weighs like 1500lbs though. 0-60 standard is like 15 secs! lol. They do a 1.1. I think it makes 50hp.
I don't want anything too fast at first. One, it would cost too much to insure. Two- I am a nutter, and hurt myself on things that go 30
Sure thing, I will get a video soon, might not be till the weekend or later tho. Starting to like the exhaust more and more lol. I might change the tail pipe or back box though. I like the rolled out or angled tailpipes.
I might wait until I start driving it, and see what comments I get. She's a little loud, but not so bad.

As for the insurance cost, that's why I'm getting a ford/mazda ranger 4 banger when I need a vehicle because its dirt cheap to inssue. Even with the 2.3L its at 154hp and 10-12 second 0-60 depending on how you shift, so its not a slow vehicle. I'll have one heck of a time resisting the urge to turbo it though, that's a easy 250-300 on stock internals.

Does the insurance go by the displacement or the HP?

Dunno on how the insurance is gauged, I guess power? And safety etc, like brakes.
Been looking on the owners club, turns out the original owner owned her till 2008, had her garaged, hence why the little rust, then some guy chavved her up and did the 1.1- 1.3 engine conversion (the idiot did it with an engine with 10,000 miles more than the chassis!), then now I am the 3rd owner in the year of 2012! The first guy of this year bought her for about £2600, spent £500 on the chrome bumpers, and £150 on the steering wheel, then sold her to the next guy for £2650, then he sold her to me for £2000! I feel like I got a deal now.
