Help finding a car?

Dairy- around 300 holstein fresian cows, and 300 acres owned. We also rent around 40 acres and grow maize and wholecrop wheat silage for the cattle.
I would love a machinery shed- that ain't happening!
Most of the time the car would sit on the gravel drive tho.

I would have to do an engine conversion and a load of welding. but I think she has potential!
Edit: Oh and the guy in bournemouth must have sold the car- he didn't reply and the add was gone the next day or so.

youll need a left side fender, and it looks like it needs a cleaning, where does the welding need to be done? thats around 804$ US. whats wrong with the engine inside?

I don't know what the market value for used cars is in your area, but I sure wouldn't pay $800 for a (relatively) late model car with rust and an engine that needed replaced. I only paid $300 for my Subaru because I knew the engine was repairable, and I knew I could get my money back by parting or scrapping it if it didn't work out.

Bit of welding around the windscreen and filler cap.
Need to do a conversion cos it's a 1.6 gti and I couldn't insure it, the engine doesn't run anyway so I was thinking of putting a 1.5 diesel in it. They then can get around 55mpg (uk gallons)

Dunno what the price of a mk1 rabbit is in the USA, but they are not cheap here. You can easily pay around £500 for a solid shell.
They are not common either. This is the second one I have seen within a couple of hundred miles of me in the past 6 months!

Its the UK. It makes 108hp.
Some people put g40 engines in them. They make over 200hp.

Insurance prices. I have never lived in other parts of the world, but I assumed from fowlers comment that it would be far easier/ cheaper for a new driver to insure a car with a larger displacement engine in Australia than the UK.

That's one of the screwiest things I have ever heard. Cheaper insurance for a LARGER engine? It sure don't work that way around here!!!

Really a 1.6 is the smallest engine

Common engines are 2L 4 bangers

And 3L V6
4x4s are very common so it would be silly if I couldn't put a 5L V8 deisel turbo under my name

Can't really give any advice, by only looking at those pictures. Maybe take some when you have a look? I would just be looking for rust and chassis damage.

At the age of 19 (Still do) I had two 2L, Turbo, manuel and RWD cars under my name. Easy making well in excess of 200hp.

When it is in a car that weighs not a great deal, with minimal safety features, driven by a 17 year old. Otherwise, no.

I got sent some more pics. It looks fairly rotten, but I will go have a look anyway, and grab some more.
