Gy6 vs predator 420. Potential restore question

I pulled off the gy6. And all the insane amounts of wiring. I wanted to see what kind of situation I would have to mount the 420.
Looking at the current frame, it looks like I will need to weld in a crossbar and mounting plate on the bottom of the swing arm. I have to measure the height but I'm sure I will have to cut and relocate the top cross bar for clearance.
But the glaring concern I have is the sprocket is on the passenger side. And it's only 32 teeth. I am assuming I will need a 60 tooth sprocket on the axel if I go with a 10t on the series 40 tc.
Can I flip the axel so the sprocket is going to be on the other side? Or is it just easier to buy a new axel with the sprocket on the driver side?

Are you saying I need to move the disc and caliper from the passenger side to the driver side? That's something I can do.
I will unbolt the axel and see if I can flip it and take the sprocket off. If it's more trouble than it's worth I will start with a new axel.

Another thought would be to incorporate a CVT driven pulley jackshaft that extends over to the existing drive sprocket alignment.

I'm not sure what that is or how to accomplish it but I will look into it and see if it's something that may work out for my application

Something like this, except a long enough shaft to put the small sprocket above your axel sprocket.

You could use pillow block bearings, instead of the tube with sealed bearings.

Make the engine plate so you can move it up and down in the back to keep chain tension adjusted.

No reason to move the brake caliper unless it becomes necessary. If you flip the axle, the brake disc will be on the other side of the kart. Probably easier to move the disc back to where the caliper is.

Probably be easier and cheaper to start with a new axle that has the key way cut the whole length of it. This way you don’t have to mess with moving your brake and you can put the sprocket anywhere you need to. Get new bearings too.

I actually just ordered a new rear axel kit from go power sports. It has everything including wheels, tires, bearings, brakes, 60t sprocket, 44 in axel. I also ordered the 40 series tc and some new shocks while I was ordering parts. Once I get all that in I will get the 420 and mock it all up where I need it.
In the mean time I will start the resto on the rest of the buggy.

I'm probably going to disappoint you with the paint. If I have to guess when my 3 girls get involved this thing is going to be pink, purple and teal with princess stickers haha.
Oh… my. Maybe you can get some racing numbers on it? 😅😆😂🤣
Looking forward to this one!

It will be pretty much a rattle can job. My air compressor died so I only have a small compressor I couldn't use to lay down any consistent paint with. But I will do my best to influence the colors.
I am not looking forward to removing the rust and dirt. Ha. Prep is the key but it's also why most paint jobs suck... because it's where the work is.

I just picked up the predator 459 at harbor freight for $320. It was the floor model. After going over it, I didn't see anything missing or broken. Looks like a score for me!
I got mine for 120 because it was returned.

I was standing there when it was returned and the guy returned it because it turned the wrong way. It never saw oil or gas.
