You forgot to put the sprocket and spacers between the plate and the driven (secondary). See how much your shaft sticks out from the clutch? It should be only a half dozen or so threads from the nut.
OK it came with spacers. but it was pre assembled. the sprocket is on, just no spacers I will take it apart today and put the spacers in. I will update with a pic when I get it on

I cleaned up the bottom. didn't get out of control cleaning. just knocked the loose rust and paint off. then sprayed the bottom with truck bed liner. figured it would hold up better than paint getting scuffed and scratched.

I use truck bed liner for everything. It's durable and not too expensive. I'm going to paint my car with that stuff once it's running

got the main frame painted. everything is black at the moment.
my daughter's picked out fluorescent pink. so I'm going to do the front suspension parts, the rear swing arm and maybe the fenders pink. keep it classy. hahaha
A bright color is hard to keep even.

it won't be perfect by any means. I may have my kids use their vinyl cutter and let them make some neon pink designs and lay down the vinyl over the black paint. clean and even. lol. then throw a coat of clear over it and be done.

I just mounted up the axel on the swing arm. i put the tires on so I could get an accurate visual of how I will need to mount the motor.

All I will say is sweet baby Jesus. the 459 is pretty big and so is the 60 tooth sprocket.

the sprocket won't clear the bottom bar that supported the old gy6. and the top part of the swing arm is too low to fit the engine. so I'm going to have to relocate the bottom bar. then cut the top bars off and make new ones that will accommodate the height of the motor.

I'm going to have to put in cross bars to actually mount the base plate and motor on. high enough to clear the sprocket.
the saving grace here is the gas tank that sat above the motor won't be there anymore so I have the clearance above. I just have to make sure I keep the structural strength moving things around.

my welding skill (or lack of) will be tested for sure.

After about 6 coats on my buggy it still wasn't even. I ended up doing g a black splatter paint as an accent.
that looks good to me GW. my kids will beat this thing to death so I am not worried about it looking like a show piece.

If you want it to look pretty when YOU ride it, jus do like I do and ride it while wearing high heels and matching lipstick.

I don't recommend wearing the fish net G-string..... you might attract some unwanted attention from strange individuals.

I don’t know what to say. Except I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Never experienced that problem. What kind of paint are you using and how are you appling it?

this thread is taking an ugly turn. Maybe we can get back on topic? The visuals from post #73 are jusr scary!
I was using some of the cheaper rustoleum paint (the only color I could find of what I wanted at the time) and I was applying it with a gun attachment. The main issue was the bars made it quite difficult to get even spry with it

I'm guessing a cricut machine, what type of file they use? I will send you the file for my wife's old logo she had me make when she raced...girls get kick out of it...and guys sometimes cringe :cornut:

Eta...its very family safe ;)
