The mailman brought my head back to me today.
Big stainless valves, titanium retainers, massive ports, and a little added material to make the intake port go beyond where Honda intended it to.
Just a handful of parts and this thing will be ready to go together.

You got to build a new dyno for this engine. Have you heard anything about the new 224 HF engine yet?
I built one of the 223cc tillotsons into a race motor last year. It was a solid little unit until I raced at a track that I had never been to and missed the gear setup an overrevved it and yard sales the whole thing.
I doubt I’ll build another dyno, it was a fun project but I figured out pretty quickly that I’m always trying to get bigger and meaner with these motors and the dyno was more useful for trying to wring every last bit out of an engine program that pretty much stayed the same. I tune by lap times now.

I have not been on this site for some time but this thread has got my attention! I will be checking in to see how this engine turns out!
Awesome stuff!

I have to get the block and head cut for the o ring, then order a few things such as rockers, flywheel, and pushrods and then it’s just final assembly.
I’m not terribly worried about the season started as I’ve gotten news that my favorite track has been sold and is closed. They got a really good price for the property, so I do t blame them for selling. It’ll slow my racing down some as the nearest track to me now is about a 2hr drive.

Small plots of land may be cheap. I think you could get a decent track with 3 acres. Long as it's not considered decent farming land, should be able to get it for like $2K per acre.

I have 13 acres on the lake, but it doesn’t lay well enough for a track. I’m not really interested in running one myself anyway because it’s mostly babysitting parents who think their kids have been cheated out of a life changing win.
Our local track sold for $10k / acre, so I do t blame them for selling it. I’d have done the same thing.

That's cool you are set up to do your own machining. Looking good, can't wait to see the finished product.

I’ll finish it and race it, but right now I’m sidetracked with my turbo LS pinto wagon, and my turbo LS S1-0

Sell the truck for some more wagon parts. Those little things make some of the fastest track eaters I've ever seen. (Some of the most dangerous also, but cool blurry pictures don't come from safe rides.)
