Ok, getting this chain tensioner on, wish me luck. I was able to scrounge everything from the scrap pile except the spring. Skateboatd I found in a trash pile in the forest. Basically it is spring loaded and adjustable to accomodate quick sprocket changes on the jackshaft. On the skateboard is a motorcycle chain roller, you can see why I didnt want to use it compared to these big skate wheels.20230916_213702.jpg

I had a buddy over last night who gave me a good idea: Use multiple master links in my chain. That way I can shorten or lengthen the chain to match different-sized drive sprockets on my jackshaft. The tensioner won't need to pick up as much slop that way. Nothing much to report beyond that.

Working on a very simple battery tray. Will sit just behind the passenger, and on the front right of the swingarm. Ill do terminal protectors and a strap over the top. This position is optimal for running 2 batteries in parallel as well, should I decide to do that later on. The passenger side battery will also help balance out the weight from all the transmission and brake components on the other side. 20231010_222819.jpg20231010_223543.jpg

Simple, clean, and easy access. I like how this turned out. Ill weld on a negative tab to bolt into tomorrow.

Battery installed. 12V 35Amps. I bought this hydraulic crimper a few years ago for installing crimps for cable on railing a few years ago. It worked great for the electrical connections. 6 guage wire. A little overkill, but that will leavecme with more options down the road.20231015_152537.jpg20231015_152532.jpg20231015_165953.jpg
