yea i know rubber tends to like staying in the position it was molded. i dont feel like it will crack where its bending but i think it might crack aroun where the washers and cleats are squeezing down on it. It might take a few months or 20 years. hard to say but im sure conveyer belt material would do the same thing. Ill find out either way. Anyway the tank is looking pretty ominous :) cant wait to get the framing farther along and get some sheet metal on it

That thing looks mean
How do u rekon the little trans is going to handle it

Those little shafts just look outta place

thanks guys. I think the trans will be ok. it came off a pretty heavy duty tractor. the shafts will be supported by more bearings out close to the wheels so they should be ok. plus theyre not holding up any weight just drive force

got the plywood floor put in and the back is getting put together. I had to shorten the track one link. it just came up too high and i couldnt take it down any farther with the rear axle. the gas tank filler neck was easy. just slipped a plumbing fernco on it fit perfect on both ends and the perfect length too. iv still got to do the mount for the tank and the bracings for the D rings and the shields for the lights. Also probrobly going to put grab handles on the sides of the back after i get the sheetmetal on it. But its going well i guess  also got the front end done for now.

Thanks guys I hope your are correct :) heres the latest. Right side pod will house the battery and the muffler. I will probrobly put it on an angle. iv got to make the pipe from the engine before i can get too much farther with the sheetmetal. For the top rollers im probrobly going to make the front one stationary and the rear one adjustable with a turnbuckle or something like that. that way i wont have to move the rear axle to tension it.

You know the thing I like about all your builds, the attention to the most minute details is amazing; keep it up

I don't often comment on your work, I just sit back & watch in awe; most of my comments on the forum are advice &, it's obvious, you don't need it

haha thanks man. yeah the time to think about the details is when your building it because its harder to change things after youre done. plus you dont want to bother with it anymore lol. Yeah sometimes the guys that think they have a better idea get a little annoying but I know theyre just trying to help and sometimes they do :) If I knew everything I wouldnt be trying crazy things like this. If it doesnt work atleast itll look cool  I just put together this little video of the progress for the u-tubers.

I got the sides done I havnt decided on the latches for the doors yet. Also got the hood made and the winch handle. I used a 3/8" socket parts so the handle can come off easy. Also you can see i plan to use that old pump housing for a machine gun base. Ill do that later on after the tank is all done. It all worked out real good. Now i can move on to the controls.

I'm sorry, correct me if I'm wrong, but did you just say that you've put who knows how much effort into a cool chassis, and you haven't yet gotten the drive train to the point where you could even fire it up, let alone test it?????????

Personally, I'd make sure I has a drive train that would work, and design and build the body around that.....
