Hi ...

year ago I started my project but do not have much time so ..

I got 5'' wheels, 180 ccm scooter engine (2 stroke) from gillera runner 180 fxr ...

instead of rear wheel I put sprocket and then use conventional transmition via chain.
gear ratio is 40/27 and top speed should be 80 km/h ...

start:

brakes:

sprocketss before :

and after:

pedals:

as original exhaust could not fit, I changed pipe a little bit and probable lost some power...

radiator is from ford tranzit cabin heater :

how should everything fit:

after complete disassembly and checking welds, sanding old paint , primer paint is there:

and after black:

plan is to paint main tubes in orange and put evrything back.

This is some great work; I like what you did with the sprockets & great idea using a heater core as a radiator :thumbsup:

:lolgoku::lolgoku: I know THAT feeling.....
Good job! But, the sprockets..... Man, that arrangements looks off a little, meaning you will be going super fast on top end, but take forever to get there. Unless I'm missing something...... :oops:
Slap on the wheels and post a video of it running. I bet it's quite a bit of fun to ride and I'm sure your friends are jealous..... :kewlsmiley::cheers2:

of course I could be wrong but hope not :D

in morning I will put some calculations here, now have to put children in the bed :p

this engine has TC inside and 13'' wheels and goes 130 km/h.

if I put 5'' wheel , it will go only 30-40 km/h so have to add some revs on axle

Don't worry about calculations..... Just run it..... I think you are correct.... It HAD a 13" tire, now your going to a 5".... Uhh, get race slicks in a 13" height on 5 or 6" wheels.....
I like this build more n more..... Ready to see it running and what kind of pep it has......

ok, new calculations ... on some sites I found that top speed of this bike is 108 or 130 km/h ..

tyre used is 130/60-13''.

so diameter is 13'' + 12 cm which is 45,02 cm or 0.4502 m

circumference is Diameter * PI => 0,4502 * 3,141 = 1,413 m

top speed 108 km/h = 30 m/s

rev on axle = 30/1,413 = 21,77 (1/sec) = 1276 rpm

sprockets on engine side is 40 and on gokart axle is 28 tooth, ratio is 1.428

so gokart axle will do max 1276 rpm * 1,428 = 1822 rpm => 30 (1/sec)

gokart wheel is 5'' and whole tyre is 10" or 25.4 cm or 0,254 m in diameter

circumference is 0,254* 3,14 = 0.797 m

top speed sholud be 0,797 m * 30 (1/sec) = 24 m/s or 87 Km/h

if bike top speed is 130 km/h then kart will go 101 km/h ...

if that is case, then I sholul check welds again ...

well, here are some old videos , back in 2010 when I bought second hand gokart..

same engine was on, but chassis was horrible, cuted and welded so many times. ..

also, there was no exhaust, just pipe and finally i got crashed and twisted chassis beyond repair...

took two years to start build new one...

videos are poor quality, specialy this from down hill run without engine ...

:wai: Nice job. But I am not big fan of having the gas tank above my head. If it were me, I would put it under the steering tower and add a fuel pump.

No return line needed. You only have the fuel line with a pulse pump in the middle somewhere . That has a line for a pulse (suction) from a vacuum source on the engine, like the manifold. It only pumps what you need..... :cheers2:
