gokart from scratch

Got the wheels and tires in today. They are 410/3.50x6 slicks.

My school ends when it's already getting dark, so I can't do much in the week... only on weekends and Wednesdays.

Finally got to do some work on my kart. Got the rear tires attached and front spindles on.

Mocked up the brake today. I am using the front brake from the dirt bike I bought.

Thanks. It really wasn't all my idea. There is about 4 or 5 of us working on the kart but I'm paying for it all and what not haha. 4 heads are better than 1!

Are those just collars you have holding the wheels on?

Yeah both sides are set screwed with 5/16 set screws
It is also keyed with 1/4 keys.

You might want to look into something a little more substantial like threading the ends for a nut or drilling and pinning the collars with a bolt.

Got some more work done today. Got the brake finalized and working well. Put together the steering wheel and column as well as finishing the throttle.

Do you have racing kart tires?

Yeah they are slicks but I guess not really cause they aren't wide enough. So I don't know what ya would consider them.
