Im building a one person gokart from scratch... im using 1" OD 1/8" WT welded round tubing for the frame. The picture of the end is capped and welded so no water gets in.

how are those spindles going to work?? If im not mistaken i think you built them wrong... but maybe im just not seeing it. Good welds though! love round tubing builds, looks more professional IMO.

By the looks of it, He has not actually welded on the shaft yet because he is probably waiting to see how it will play out. I do this kind of thing all the time. I start building without a plan and just go from there and continue building until something comes out of it.

I would do a little triangulation in your frame to strengthen it a bit more.

Otherwise you have a brilliant start. Well done

im gonna add some gussits in there when i have a chance. im doing this during school so i only have a limited amount of time

i havent completed them yet just becasue i want to see how the hubs come so i dont do something wrong and then have to redo it.

Maybe its just me, but I would prefer to see some more triangular supports on this frame. Gussets are great, but cannot compensate fully for your ladder design.

When i install the seat brackets and the engine brackets will that support it enough? If not, where on my frame should i support it?

Well hello again, I haven't updated you guys on my kart in months so I figured I may cause I have some progress. First off I have installed my engine. It is a '91 kx125 that runs very well, I have a nice chrome pipe coming in here shortly to put on it. I have also installed pillow blocks and live axle complete with sprocket and disc brake ( both from the kx). I have refitted the chain added a chain roller in for tension and have welded most of that into place. The shifter has been modified to a slap shift that runs right up the kart. As we move along towards the front of the kart I have started to build my steering by completing the tie rods and ends. I still have a lot of work to go including:

Wheels and tires
Steering column/wheel
Spindle ends
Seat
Etc.

Take a look and give me some feedback. Thanks
