Are you planning to go fast or slow?
With a clutch a good gear ratio is 6:1 or 5:1 or lower if the kart is heavy.

Break out your tape measure, and measure from the ground to the top of the rear tire. Then tell us that measurement, whether it has a clutch or CVT, an engine type. Then, count the teeth on the clutch or CVT driven unit, and on the rear axle.

The entire height of the rear tire is 6 1/2 inches? Are you sure? What's the size marked on the sidewall? Need the other info I requested, too.

Well for starters, I need to know that if you'd like an answer- it would really help to know what you're dealing with. What's wrong with current performance?
What size rims are those, anyhow?

Okay- lesson one- A smaller rear sprocket (like you want) creates a higher gear ratio- Result? SLOWER take-off. LESS torque at the wheel. Again, please count teeth.
