Try not to take this too hard but- If you expect me to help you, I expect you to help me help you. Life doesn't get handed out on platters. If you want to wait till there's light, just say so. But don't bite the hand that feeds...

in no what the diameter is but i was thinkin about my black go kart but the red one is about 10 and a half inches tall and i am not doing all that stuff just to count some teeth on my chainwheel why cant you guys just tell me a good gear ratio

A good gear ratio is 5:1. There. Question answered. Whether that ratio works for YOU is another question entirely, and one that can't be answered without additional information.

Well, a "good" gear ratio depends entirely on what you want. I really suggest you answer all questions directed at you in this thread; what speed are you hoping for, what terrain you'll be driving on, etc. You've answered the rest, but the ratio depends largely on what you want to do with your kart.

Generally, for off road you're more likely to want more torque, meaning a lower top speed, but still, you'll have more fun being pushed into your seat and having a top speed of 25mph than needing a push to get moving at all and have terrible acceleration, with a top speed of 50.

I don't know about commercial karts, but is it worth asking the rpm of the engine? Would it be the stock 3600 or have no governor and therefore rev higher?

It really isn't as simple as asking and leaving a picture, expecting an answer. I also think it's kind of off-ish to effectively say no to someone trying to help you in their spare time.

the lower the ratio the faster it will go 5:1 is faster than 6:1

Faster at top end.
Conversely, the higher the ratio the quicker it will accelerate (but you'll run out of r's sooner).
Depends on what the guy wants, top end speed or off the line speed.
Apparently we're still waiting to find that out.

these guys are only trying to help, i think a good ratio for you is 6 to 1, i think your running #40 chain so a 60 tooth sprocket on the rear should do it, if your tire diameter is smaller than the sprocket your not gonna be able to ride so your diameter matters
