You may very well be right. Since ive come this far I think I should at least start the engine and see what happens first

Worse comes to worse a couple tensioners should help. If they don't do a good job, split it in half with a 1:1 jackshaft and run 2 chains.

Made some small progress this weekend. looks like i'm going to be moving the engine about a foot towards the rear so that i have space for my feet/pedals and so that there is room for the tierods etc.

It should also help by reducing the chain length

We'll see. I don't see the frame dimensions changing and my butt wants to stay at the back so there's not a lot further back it can go

Hahaha.

I want talking about the kart. Should have been more specific.

The couch swing, in the back of the shop......

Derp. I should have thought about your post more. Yep, it's a couch swing at the hackerspace where I'm building the kart. I've got a side project where i'm going to make a purely pneumatic auto swinger for it :p

Since no one has asked, or maybe I just don't know, but what's the what on those clown car tires?

The orange solid tires are off an orange wheelbarrow/mixer at work. I subbed in some of the tubed horrible freight ones I bought since these stand up better to burnouts/drifting/other dumb crap.

I'm a **** fool

Currently waiting on new push rods since i ran the engine backwards a bunch without realizing it using a drill while trying to get the chain aligned (yeah, laugh it up, I'm a moron) and now it won't start. After fretting over the carb for a while a friend suggested I pop off the valve cover and i saw one of the rods was off the flapper. I tried to put it back under the flapper and it popped off again So I pulled them out and the were quite bent. Fortunately new stock rods are cheap on ebay because so many people go billet as soon as they get a new engine.
