the two remaining hangups are I need to find the two band brakes I bought, test/install the pulse pump and drill and tap one end of the axle so that i can gave only 1 driven wheel for pavement riding

Most of it is already black so I'll probably stick with that. Maybe hang a tiny jolly rodger off the back, lmao

Karts are legal for autocross so long as they fit these rules (250 kart rules start on page 5)

What??? Is this SCCA or just something local? I have friends that autocross, I don't have anything I can race right now other than my kart, and that's probably not that fast in comparison to race karts.

Its Done!

No pictures yet because I was too busy driving it but I got the gas pedal sorted and found and installed a disc brake. it's plenty fast and WAY more stable than the old kart with it's tall center of gravity and small footprint.

I'll probably get a new axle since the all-thread I'm using currently is kinda bent and i need to tweak the tensioner and maybe add a seatbelt/chainguard so that I can do autoX

Yeah its through SCCA

Done!!!!!

Still needs a chain guard, coat of paint and maybe a harness + better seat if I want to autoX but it runs like a dream since I put the rear axle and disc brake on. Video will happen a soon as I remember where my gopro is. Any Questions? aside from the slightly cramped front end, the engine in front works fantastically. MUCH better weight distribution and turning authority. I get understeer for days on my car, I don't need it on my kart too :p

Bump. Any thoughts/criticisms? I really want to get a bucket seat but I don't know where to find one for less than $80. Used is probably the best bet.

I did end up buying the summit seat off ebay but I haven't installed it yet since I've been working on an electric kart for the power wheels racing series. Pics to follow shortly.

I have also continued to have issues with the carb jet gumming up. I assume a fuel filter is the answer?

Possibly. What gas are you using? If your using regular 87 with 10% Ethanol (E10) look for Non-oxygenated (Ethanol Free) gas. Sometimes it's 87, 89, 91 or 93 octane. Ethanol gums up carbs like crazy.

Yeah I'm using regular pump gas. Ethanol free is probably the way to go. Where can I find it?

Not really. The straight pipe/smokestack I rigged up sounds great and dumps the gas well above your head but isn't the strongest thing in the world (it snapped once on me). I've been using the stock exhaust lately to avoid making the neighbors mad but its still not a problem

Upgrading to a 1" tubular axle and real pillow blocks instead of my flange bearings. Pics to follow soon

Im curious why a tube axle... and in 1" dia.... that leaves no room for a proper keyway?.....
What are the specs of this ?
