It sucks when people give stuff like that away for free because most of the time people just scrap them when like he said most of them would be running in 10 minutes. Although i think since scrap has been down people are salvaging more

dude i just watched that vid wish i lived up there
as for russ's comment about not taking anything older than 1998 i'd rather have a good old one rather than a new one most of the old ones were way better built.

Not in my experience.
DuraForce far surpass the earlier models by any criteria you wish to choose.
DuraForce have better porting, twin ball-bearing mounted crankshaft, more power, lighter, and more easily converted over to do what I require them to do.
Models A, C, D utilize bushings for crankshaft support and once they are worn out, crankcase must be replaced.
Only weakness in the DuraForce is the CDI pack.
They do fail on occasion but they also can be easily repaired once you understand why they fail.

Ohh ok. So when the Duraforce engine is being used in go kart weather and not outside in the rain on a lawnmower, Do the coils still fail from moisture?

Yes, but don't think that this problem occurs often.
I got some really great deals on engines that had "No Spark".
As a result, they were sold "as is" for parts.
I purchased a new pack (as a back-up) for $60 and as yet has not been needed.
Turns out the B&S 2 cycle snow engines use the same pack.
