Off hand....the motor won't. It is made for a 2 stroke motor.. There shafts are opposite drive to the princess motor.
With work and a jackshaft it could be made to work together... Not easilly

you should be able to slide the sprocket and hub to the left of the axle bearing and it will line up.

The big block style engines are a extremely tight fit tho.

so which engine at around $100 would fit

Your engine is the same size as the other big block style engines. Anything bigger than 270cc is considered a big block if I remember correctly.

Look at this video. It will fit with some minor modifications for sprocket clearance and for engine mounts.........

That being said obdviously a 212cc style small block will fit easier tho.

It doesn't look like a regular 4 stroke will work. The frame seems to be in the way. Look for a two-stroke, like a Yamaha KT-100

Looks like a good frame, but not a ton of engine space. for a cheap engine, you might try a Predator 212cc 6.5 HP(Honda clone). I've heard good things about them. That's really ambitious with the 13 HP. With the correct gearing, 6.5 HP should be plenty. To give you an idea, my 1985 5 HP 213cc Briggs and Stratton flathead should theoretically take my kart to about 20 MPH. I'm also a beginner, so if someone says something that contradicts me, listen to them instead!

Get a Harbor Freight coupon and you can snag a BRAND NEW one for about $100!

Without it it's about $120

It's hard to tell frames from each other, but if you could find some sort of serial number or whatnot on it, that would help.

late70's early eighties by appearance.. and there is no way to fit a predator (or any four stroke really) on it

judging by the seat struts you cannot mount the sprocket anywhere near where it would need to be in order to work.
Also IF you alos had to buy a new rear axle since that one is unlikely keyed in the correct location.

ALso a 100 buck two stroke kart engine is a unicorn.. if you see one that's not dead, go for it!
make sure it CAN hold a clutch though..
since a direct drive kart is useless when not on a race track.
(clutches are expensive again...)

No, I'm afraid making this kart run for cheap is not going to happen really.
I mean sure you can destroy it
(by cutting the frame and seat struts and whatnot to fit the 212 or whatnot)
but then it'll be a real pain to drive it might even turn itself into a pretzel the first chance it gets.

Pick a different frame if you want to go 4stroke..
or raise your allowance for a proper engine

just my 2ct ;)

In abridged version of what you are being told: That frame and "cheap" engines are not compatible.

Try again with a "yard kart" type frame and you won't even need any advice.
