Well, the lighter method worked. When flicked, it would go dark, then lighten up. Woohoo! Thanks Kibble ;)

lol why does it take all of these pages #3 to learn how to get this welder dialed in? open the box take out welder feed wire put it on some random setting and just try it out.

Oh... how do I remove paint? Use those paint removers or paint stripper acids or something?

Burn it? :p

rotary tool w/ wire brush for paint or rust

or just use a grinder

remove it just where the weld is going to be

I just use a stiff wirebrush on the area I'm gonna weld to get rid of anything on the metal.
