i realised the bottom bolt was missing, and when you pull it, it pulls out and jams.
i now have a new problem- wheel snapped off. i will weld it back on.
also, when you put amy amount of throttle on and off, it stays revving like that for 1 second or so, and idles again. is this an engine or clutch problem?

ok. i dont want to pay like £5 inc postage anyway, as i only need one.
i am an idiot! the driver pulley bolt fell off, and so the driver pulley came off and damaged my crankshaft! it will be ok tho. how does everyone get the bolts on torque converters tight?
also, how do people stop the exhaust bolts coming onedone, and the driven pulley from shifting side to side?

I had that throttle problem. Could be two things. Need a beefier return spring on the motor or u can drill a new hole and move it up one more cm or so so its more tensioned and returns the throttle back harder and quicker. Or which was half my problem, the foot pedal is tightened to tight and cant move freely enough and sticking.

Sticky throttle:

I use the triple return spring method. One normal, a second returning the gas pedal itself and a 3rd located between the bell crank/housing clamp and instaled around the cable itself like this pic:

throttle seems ok now, as i have replaced the forever short cable (which was a bit kinked). i may try that with the exhaust, as i am already using loctite. what about spring/ lock washers? and how do you keep the torque converter driver bolt tight?

Yeah you should be using the best lock washers you can find on your pipe bolts. (I've never been impressed with Spring-washers but sometimes Internal-external type Star washers seem to work best)
Lock washer info: http://www.thread-rite.com/shel/tr_livelock.htm

For your converter: Have you already tried loctite-ing and slipping a rope down the spark plug hole while tightening the bolt method?

what i do with the converter is put a spanner in the bolt and pull the recoil slowly with the engine switch off (so it doesnt start). it may be ok now, but i want to be sure. my brother suggested tab washers on the exhaust.

I was thinking your pulling the recoil out method may not end up working quite as well as using the rope down the cylinder method on your T/C. (the little bit of stretch in the rope would give a cushioning effect as you try to carefully torque without over tightening)

ok, i have a vid of me going in one of our fields. who wants me 2 post it up?
running good now. just need to make 2 lock collars to stop the converter pulley moving side 2 side. also need to get this to link carb to throttle , as my makeshift wire is , frankly, crap, as it leaves the engine idle nice and annoyingly high, meaning no drifting, and quick stops :(
