I can solve your issue completely...............

Make 1 brake on left and gas on left and hand clutch. The way all shifter karts are. Trust me your gonna hate 3 pedals. Not enough room and your foot will get caught.

If you go look at my thread with mine it shows the hand assembly. Super easy to do and you use the factory oem clutch cable for the motor.

Im pretty stuck on how i want it to be, im afraid lol. Ill check out your thread to see if i can use any of your ideas for sure.im not sure what my foot will get caught on? I dont need an excessively huge tank. Im sure i can make it work just fine though man.. I dont like the whole hand assembly set up at all to be completely honest lol.

The tie rods hit my leg on full lock. Is it because im only 5'5?lol im probably going to have to have the seat really forward, and the gas tank in the back. Which is no big deal, just going to take a bit longer than expected.

there's a reason why they design the gas tank to go under the column. I personally would keep it there as it was designed to be like that for one reason or another

Hmmmmm, well this is a custom kart so if things have to get changed, then by golly gee, itll get changed! Lol. If i can find a semi narrow tank, itll be cool!

So i got my sprocket! Im hoping its the same kind of design as the back one so itll be easy getting a chain. Mannnnn it better be the same lol. Going to find a ruler.

Don't mean to laugh, but... you should have figured that not all sprockets and chains are created equal.

the sprocket is oem, and the frame came with the kart.. so shove that where the sun don't shine!i was trying to get lucky that it might work. and it might indeed work.

heres a question. if I get matching sprockets, wont the spacing of the teeth be bigger on the bigger sprocket due to the circle being bigger? like how does that work? not to mention taking into account the teeth count.. unless the sprocket size itself is different in sizes?

Teeth are the same no matter the size of the sprocket. Chain wouldn't work otherwise. You just get more teeth on a bigger sprocket.

Those two sprockets you are comparing in post #110 are not compatible. A chain that fits one will not fit the other. You can not use that sprocket you are holding with the sprocket on your axle.

Exactly what I was saying. Yes the sprocket for the engine is oem, but that doesn't mean the the axle sprocket is the same.

Hit Google and do research on parts before shelling out cash.

Didn't the engine already have a sprocket? What you shouldhave done is found out what it was, and then bought a matching axle sprocket, then after you have it up and running you can play with your gear ratios my friend.

That rear sprocket will not work with the front, and the chain that the front needs, so as I was saying, start hunting for a compatible rear sprocket before you start going hog wild on front ones.

It might indeed not work in its current state.

I got the oem one because i couldnt find an aftermarket one thatll fit the engine. No it didnt come with a sprocket, hence me buying one.. No matter how you slice it, id have to buy 2 sprockets regardless(already got one), so idk what you are trying to say.. Im not worried about the axle sprocket. Im worried about getting everything i need for the engine before i worry about the frame. The guy said it was a sprocket that needed a 35 or a 41. Not a sprocket i can use anyway..

If so you can find a sprocket that's the right pitch, and then just drill the mounting holes for your hub.

Go kart galaxy will have your rear sprocket. You might have to change the hub it mounts on also.

The engine was a 1991 modded KX125cc. And I sold the whole thing last fall. The transmission was screwed up and I didn't feel like fixing it.

The shifter I made from scratch with a universal shifter ball, a piece of round tube, and 2 bolts !

Last but not least I'm 6' and my feet hit my tie rods also. It's normal and they don't move far. Just don't wear baggy pants or long shoe laces. Lol

Lol ribbing successful. I didnt say much on the forum, but in my mind, i was like this piece of **** hahahahaha. Its all fun and games until someone gets mad lol. And heck no i dont have one. Im a lil black dude with nothing better to spend money on lmao. I got no problems spending tremendous amounts of money on stuff as long as it brings satisfaction. Thats how i live! So why cant i take a dremel and just groove out each dip in the sprocket?lol

Yea i saw that site! Custom everything. I have no problems aftermarket, but what on the hub wil i have to measure to make sure i get the right sprocket?I seen some nice sprockets out there! I seen this ktm sprocket that was like bright red. Looks so hard. Lol

How was the throw of the shifter? You had any issues shifting?

So hitting the tie rods is no big deal then? I thought id ne able to clear all that lol.
