Yep^ That's pretty much it!!!

Sorry....you posted while I was typing....but making a jig is well worth the time...and much shorter (timewise) ...and more accurate....

Im trying to imagine what itll look like. I understand bolting the sprocket to wood, but what exactly would the dremel be doing? Or where would it be? He said itll do like a v, but im not understanding that part.

Yeah....I don't agree with the "V"....that would sorta work....but a smaller hole for the shaft of the bit to ride on would be much better...

Now to simplify and make clear how simple and accurate this can be....picture this....a paint stirring stick with a hole drilled in one end that matches the hole in the center of the sprocket....and a hole in the other end the shaft of the dremel bit to ride on....keeps the distance from center to tooth consistent...radius of the tooth hole consistent...the only other factor would be spacing.....tooth to tooth....

I know this is DIY and all but I would just buy a new sprocket. If you mess up and throw that chain at 70+ mph it could get nasty.

I would just buy a new one personally. But to each their own.

Good luck...

Lol well im not going to just run it after i finish. Thayll be stupid , if i feel its sketchy, then i wont run it, but i think i will do a decent enough job.... But most likely ill get the right sprocket. I just want to see if im able to do it, ya know? Testing ones skills!

So i was thinking about it, i could possibly use the trottle cable from my little pocket chopper i have!

It has the same small little ball end that goes in the carb. Cant say for sure itll work, but if i can possibly use that instead of buying a line for 20+ bucks, id be good!. And are the rear calipers dual piston or a single?mine has 2 lines coming out. Is one a return line? Or for a dual piston/2 line caliper?

if not tomorrow, itll be the next day. I'm going to do mesaurements of my sprocket hub just in case I mess up, or I want to get another one, ill know what to get. I still need a front seat strut, as I only have the left and right one. lol

A couple of things to keep in mind on the sprocket....I didn't need to take much off mine...and only in one spot (maybe 10 teeth where the chain sat on the bottom and rusted).....but you can't keep the same spacing when you start making your circumference smaller so you can only go a little bit....

So....I'd only do a couple of teeth and check the fit of the chain before spending a lot of time with it...

And my kart doesn't rev that high or go too fast.

So i got my stuff in the mail today!

Bmi didnt send out a mounting hardware on one of the struts. A quick phone call took care of that. But i got the pedals mocked up and they were bigger than expected. Heres the gas and brake, and clutch.

Ill need to cut the front bumper part off so the pedals will go down. Ill need to cut from here down..

And..

And finally, heres the seat and motor mocked up!

Looks good to me! Seat will get mounted up when i get the hardware. Motor mount will get ordered tomorrow

It's bolted to the frame near the hubs so, logically, it must be bolted at the front; what would be the point of bolting two mounts & welding the other two?

Besides that, the bumper is chrome plated, which would be cheap to do; chrome plating an entire frame would be rather costly; the bumper must be easily removable...

I don't want to sound negative, but all I can see is welds at all the other points on the bumper. You can see where the chrome tubes are welded onto the painted metal front bumper

Yeah, if i was able to just unbolt it, id do that, but as you see, thats not an option lol. Oh well, weight reduction +1 lol!. Im not painting anything on the kart. Ill be moving too fast for people to see the color anyway. So yeah, im going to do bolt up everything i have so far, and i MIGHT be going on a hiatus, as winter is rolling around, and i need a truck to get me by.. Plus to haul my kart and atv. If no hiatus, itll be like 1 part a week lol.
