I've seen such things on the news as well ..
And truth is .. such cop should see a lifetime sentence in jail if I had to decide.

But this is going to be a political discussion in no time if I'd tell you how I feel about that and why.. sooo just let me say but this much:
You kinda made this escalative situation yourself ('you' as a nation, not person)
IMHO it could be fixed within a decade.. it won't be though.. not for all I can see from here.

What I am reluctant to believe is, that these kind of cops are the majority..
And again (highly dramatized),
that was NOT a burning trashcan neighborhood in the middle of the night, where basically every RAT is afraid of everything that moves is pulling a gun and shooting for no reason...
(which affects everyone's -incl cops- preposition to something happening)
It was a "I just mowed my lawn this saturday" neighborhood in brightest daylight..
and worst thing anyone was afraid of there was that a pidgeon will poop on your car under that tree...
which again affects everyone's preposition.

So yeah... NO! THIS KID WAS NOT AFRAID FOR HIS LIFE!
He simply wasn't and if, he was just paranoid.

It's not cops and people for god's sake,
cops ARE PEOPLE, perfectly average humanoids.
And within every group of people above a certain size
(cops, nurses, germans, americans, african-, caucasian-, asian- decent or in short HUMANS)
there is a certain amount of 455holes, no question about that.

But assuming every individual of such group must automatically be one is a prejudice.
sure there are groups where the ratio is well above average...
and no I do not give an example
"cop" is none off such group.

One political statement and I'm done...
What you need in areas where "black kids must not trust white cops" (sad.. sad that this is even a thing!)
you need more black cops! as simple as that.
have more afro american people join in with the men in blue.
(easier said than done, I know.. but still: DO IT!)

since 2009 over 3500 Blacks have been Murdered by other Blacks. in over 14,000 Shootings.
Not the Police. However I do hear what you are saying.
Citizens of Chicago may in fact fear the Police but it is not Cause the Police have Shot 14,000

That's the classic anti-helmet argument....which frankly ...doesn't hold water.

If you're on two wheels....it's not if you're going to have an accident...it's when.

Just because you can see the four wheeler coming doesn't mean you can always do squat about it. Modern medicine has come a long way....but they can't scrape up your brains and put Humpty back together.

Many of the motorcycle fatalities occur exactly like this one...only the cars pull out right in front of them. Now...if you can't see...you have a crappy helmet indeed. And/or crappy mirrors.

But where your argument COMPLETELY loses any iota of credibility is the little half shell helmets that in no way , shape of form restrict ANY vision OR hearing.

I don't doubt you are correct on at least one point, I do in fact have a crappy helmet, lol, but I have also tried many expensive ones and was no more impressed. I ride smaller framed enduro style bikes in town, I stay alert and have swerved around or stopped because of countless cars that pull out in front of me, turn in front of me, or otherwise restrict my space. Other drivers are definitely the biggest hazard. I also don't live in the big city. Riding is dangerous, if I wasn't willing to take my chances I wouldn't do it. Don't worry, I won't try to make you not wear a helmet. I'm not here to argue, so I'll leave it at that.

The thing is (and always will be)
as long as there is "his own people" and "the other people" there will be misunderstanding.

You play you pay. just don't run from the cops no matter what. If mini bike,or go kart same as motorcycle or car.hopefully the younger folks on here watch this and think twice before trying do anything crazy. I've told my boys all the time if your out on any road and a cop throws on the light just pull over most time they will tell you just get home if its your first warning.
