I lied. It's not done. The rear wheel is locking up. I adjusted the chain, adjusted the belt,... It still doesn't spin freely. I already left a 5' burnout on my kitchen floor. OK it was a skid mark.

I decided I should get food and take a break since the Cubs are blowing it. I don't want to watch. After some food I'll figure out what the problem is. Maybe paint dust coated the belt or Pulley? Seemed to roll fine before putting the belt and chain on.

Not ready to lock yet. Need to find out max RPM, top speed, 1/8 mile times.....

It's just getting good.

I guess I'll toss the belt in the dryer. Then maybe lift the rear tire and let it run for a while.
The TC system has the correct Pulley spacing, but the new belt doesn't want to slip. The way I cut the chain doesn't allow me to give the belt "Xtra" clearance. I could add a half link maybe, then give the belt some slack if I need to.

Going to go ahead and buy that half link if I can find one.
Ace is the place that charges $3 for an offset link.

Is there a "proper" way to set up the TC? Should there be a washer between the bearing and the sprocket? I like the alignment much better if there's no washer there, but an extra washer on the driver? Should the washer on the crank go before or after the "spacer" that comes with the kit? I normally just do what ever gets them aligned and hope for the best.

The extra half link didn't help. Belt has extra slack and still won't slip. Hope it just needs breaking in. I didn't try the dryer yet.

EDIT: Put in for 45 min on normal (high heat) then I'll see if it rolls.

After the dryer, it rolls.
BUT now the wide #420 chain it nicking the driven pulley I believe. I think at the master or half link. Hope a spacer between the pulley and sprocket solves it, but not sure.

Thought it came with a washer with keyway??? Anyway made one. Now it Rolls and chain clears, but as belt is cooling it is getting harder to roll. Just need to break it in I guess.

So last night (early this morning) I took off the driver unit and belt. I tossed them in a book bag along with the electric impact wrench. I pushed the bike to my friend's house. I tossed the bag on a table in the dark garage, rolled the bike inside, closed the door, and left so I could return today and break in the belt with the bike on a stand.

Was a nice walk. Very intimate. Just me and the bike. Felt the brakes rub, heard the chain roll, learned the steering,.... you know.. got to know the bike.

Returned today and worked on the brakes. I loosened them, repositioned them slightly, applied the parking brake, then retightened the caliper mounting bolts. BETTER!!!!

Then I reached into my bag and grabbed the belt. Wet. Oily. Weird.

I put my bag in an oil drain pan full of old oil.
20% of The belt, the entire driver unit (weights, springs,..), and most of the impact wrench were submerged in oil for about 12 hrs.

Here's a pic of the bike on the walk last night.
I guess I'll clean everything metal with carb cleaner. What about the belt?
Will running it on a stand for a few hours make all my troubles go away?

Going to run it today Bringing a Torque wrench, strap wrench, carb cleaner, and microfiber towels ($1 for 4 at the Dollar Store). Should have everything I need. Going to run it on a stand. This will be the first load of any kind that the engine sees.

It dropped 20 degrees in the last week Or 11 degrees C if you think dividing by 10 is easier than dividing by 36. Why did they mess up time so badly? Should of been 10 hrs/day, 10 minutes/hour, 10 seconds/minute.... Just need to change our idea of the hour!

It's raining, but I want to take her out. Currently geared 54:10 with 7" driven means ~17:1 at engagement, ~6:1 in highest. With this engine and clutch setup, it should shoot like a bullet... IF I CAN KEEP IT ON THE GROUND (not likely). 10T will be getting replaced with 13T or 14T. Might do some burnout in the rain???
