Yea there heavy engines alright, my 250 is a serious weight, if you can find the wiring diagram you are sorted and since its Kawasaki, parts will be able to be found.

Still not sure of your year but if it's a points/condenser system it should be easy to test-start the engine using
most any automotive ignition coil you might already have in stock, (instead of buying the correct one for now).
You'd just need to rig both spark plug wires together into its output, and then supply 12volt to its positive input
and then the points wire would connect to the coils negative terminal.

You could just operate the starter off a set of jumper cables.

Looks like it'd need the correct voltage regulator to get the charging system working but that wouldn't keep it from running.
Just make sure all the unused wire ends are insulated so they cant contact anything.

For the quick test you could just prime it, I know I'd sure wanna try and at least hear it run for a few seconds before investing
much into parts. Does it seem to turn over alright?

Cool, you got the starter relay and voltage regulator/rectifier there.
That single wire coming out of your side case would conect to the negitive side of the coil.

Yep,
The unattached starter Relay's battery cable with the red insulating cover goes to your positive battery post.
The 2 smaller starter relay wires: one would probably just need to be permanently grounded and the other connected to your crank button or crank terminal of an ignition switch. (these black/yellow wires just seem to complete the circuit, so I'm guessing either way you wired these 2 up would work)

If i had to guess on your 2 unattached regulator wires I'd say that white one is the positive feed back to the battery, and origonaly plugged into that matching white wire plug at your relay. And then the regulators black wire was simply grounded.

I'd start by finding out if its seized up or not. If operating the kick start with your hand wont budge it, try again with the spark plugs removed.

ander : I just went out and tried that and the kick start arm that I got with it wont go on it because it is 5/8 and the splined shaft is 3/4. I looked around for my vise grips but couldn't find them btu I dont think I should try to crank it with that.

Nope your right.

A couple other options would be kicking it into gear,
pulling the spark plugs and using a pair of channel locks to rotate its drive gear.

Or you could hook some jumper cables up to a car battery,
clamp the other ends black ground onto your KZ somewhere,
and then feed power directly into either end of the battery cable that's going to your motorcycle starter.

Don't be too surprised if it draws a big arc like a welder, it probably will ;)
