****, got to love the sound of a twin engine! <3

Awesome build dude! You made me jealous!
Is there anything left you want to "fine-tune"? ;) She's looking very good already though. :p

Awesome launch and power. Still have the governor. I am not removing it... These engines are too expensive haha. I also don't have enough street for max speed... I'm running out of room

I feel like I would want the cvt to keep the rpm higher throughout the gear range. I know I have to adjust the driven... Just not sure how. I want the spring tighter right?

yes, you should pop the spring out of whatever hole it is in right now and tighten it one hole. Test and repeat until your satisfied. Really you should use a steeper helix but I don't think they are changeable on 40 series.

If you really want to be picky find out where your engine makes peak torque and try to get it to stay at that rpm while shifting. It may be slower this way but its worth a try

I know it maxes at 3600rpm per the governor. I would like to keep it around 3000 or so

These engines are pure torque. I love the shove it gives me when I hit the gas.

Why not 3600? They are designed to run at that speed 24/7. Its not like redlining your car, running this engine at 3600 is more like running down the freeway.

Exe's right; if you're worried about running at 3600 damaging the engine, then your worry is misplaced.

Here's the 2 cent Question; we're all wondering why you want to limit your engine to only 3000 RPM or so? (I'm sorry; for some reason, we just ask questions like that here).

Pat :thumbsup::cheers2::popcorn:

I suppose I can understand that. I will bump the driven spring up a notch a. See what this does for me

DONE! :)

All I need is two bolts from the hardware store tomorrow and I will be shredding through the expected snow! (P.S. Live axle is awesome fun in the snow!)

Dynamite- I'm sure you're going to have a ton of fun. Wait 'till you get that thang onto some loose dirt or gravel! I had the Red Rocket peaking at 46 MPH, and it was a screamfest on a loose gravel/pothole-infested back road! With that oppy twin, you've got some good oomph available. How's it steering with all that weight back there?

It's not bad at speed. Slow speed turn are a bear at times but you can power through them. The weight is actually centered over the rear axle it's pretty balanced.

By weight I mean the engine and stuff. The front end dead lifts at about 60lbs dry... The back is probably more like 150+

Then add a driver and the centroid moves forward.

Absolutely finished! I got the engine bolted up and belts adjusted, battery strapped, foam installed etc etc.
Here are some detail pics that we all love.

In this pic you can see my control panel. Kill switch, starter button and remote choke. Kind of cool to have cockpit controls on a gokart :wai:

I think I'm going to get some led tail lights and some low profile headlights to put on this thing.

I need illumination!

I put some new tires and rims on the back of the kart today. The new rims shortened the width of the rear axle's stance.

It was a little too wide to begin with and I'm happy with how it sits now.

Here is a cold start for you with a walk around.
