No I did not get to ask that question, but isn't drill rotor better? I just sent them another email to find out if the rotor is 200mm with 15.5mm

Do we have to go with 200mm and 15.5mm? Is it because of the caliper we are trying to use? We cannot just buy a complete kit that will come with rotor, hub, caliper, master cylinder and etc.

A drilled rotor would cool better and reduce brake-fade racing at 70mph
but it wouldnt make much difference with the kids electric kart at 15 or 20mph.

I got those dimensions from this Birel Rotor ad:
http://www.kartsandparts.ca/store/product.php?productid=2169&cat=0&page=3
You could use any brand rotor, its just got to be that size.

You could buy a everything from Birel here at this link:
http://www.nexternal.com/mrp/birel--freeline-c12.aspx
I've just been trying to save you money locating parts from other sources.

That sounds like an awesome deal. Do you know if the spindles are for a mid 90's-era Birel kart like yours?

I am not sure but they look alike just with an additional welded plate to mount the calipers. Please see images of everything I got soo far.

Left and Right - spindles with calipers and disk brake (full assembled)
2- 40mm hubs, one for sprocket and the other for the disk brake.
200mm by 15.5mm rotor

Cool, looks like you got a great deal there. Yeah if the spindle mounting and angles are the same as your other spindles they should work just fine.

Hey Is that rotor wore quite a bit thinner than the outer edge or does the pic just make it look that way?

Are you planning on using the front brakes on your kart or the kids?

1st- yes they are like the other spindle.
2nd- yes it is, is a bit thinner in one side.
3rd- I don't think so, atleast I already have it. they are not racing it's just for fun.

That's good because sometimes the spindle-angles vary from different brands/models of racekarts.

If your used axle rotor has wore thinner to the point of causing problems, Birel sells shims that instal between the brake pads and piston in the caliper to take up the slack. But I wouldnt worry about that for now, with new brake pads you shouldn't have any problems for quite awhile.

Yeah I kinda figured you were going to use the front brakes on your other frame, not the kids kart

Yes thats what I thought when I got them. Hold them for the other kart. Just waiting on parts to keep asking you more question.

Do I need to get a different master cylinder as the caliper is dual piston?

Yep that that engine will fit that motormount and your kart.

They just use longer mounting bolts to attach 2 master cylinders side by side. Most have some type of brake bias adjuster like this red knob you can turn to control the ratio of front/rear brake.

Thanks for the illustration above.

Do you know where I can also buy the front and rear bumper for my frame?

I seen a few karts and they all have places where they go mounted, while in my kart frame is similar to the seat situation, no lip or anything to grab t the frame. Maybe the rear bumper will be easier as it has the frame tubing open at the end.

EDIT: Would I need to buy a clutch for this engine Predator 212cc? Where can I buy it?

Birel probably sells your bumpers, but I'll shop around for a lower price later this afternoon when I have more time.

Yes you'll need to buy a clutch. There's lots of choices, do you want a really good one ($75-$150) that will withstand years of abuse from your kids, or a lower cost one? ($35-$50) that will work alright for awhile?

Can the clutch be swap to different engine? if no, then I would go with the low cost.
