The kart had been crashed at some point. I straitened out and smothed out most of what I could. But I never beat anything to crap. And I'm Sry that it isn't brand new but it is better than when I got it.

have you checked both spindle brackets to be
a) at the same height in regards to the floorpan
b) at the same distance from the chassis
c) at the same angle (camber as well as caster angle)
?
it'll be a significant difference if that side is indeed off in how well the kart will handle in the end.
the dent is cosmetics... the geometry is not

a) at about same height, was so slight couldn't even say at a different height. maybe 1/32

and also measured from the bottom of each spindle to the ground and the difference was exactly 1/16 higher on the driver side. But that could also be from a more inflated tire on that side

**** it gman, get the dent puller, that go kart is a pile of rubbish with that dent in the front there. I mean, dude, someone laying down in its path might see that. On a serious note, that camber yo! It looks better than what it was, that's for sure, doubt a ding, if that is even a ding will hurt its value much, it is a go kart, meant to be driven hard, be sure to post a video of it driving around, curious to see how it handles if you do go with this setup.
measure without the actual spindles, just the bracket, and the floorpan resting on the floor, that's as accurate as you could get (your floor looks rather nice and flat luckily)
1/32" shouldn't make much of a difference.. 1/16" though might already be noticable..
1/8" is a huge difference already.
Angle finder... if you have a smartphone with an accelerometer (any smartphone really) there should be an angle finder app build in or available for free in the app/play store
No, it's not the most accurate thing to get, but it's the cheapest and easiest for a very good guess
If you have a long bolt (long enough to fit through the spindle bracket and reach the floor) and a nut just stick it through the bracket and with the nut on (all the way up to the head) and undo the nut until it hits, the upper edge of the bracket while it still touches the floor.. now take it to the other side, and see if it
isn't touching the floor (bracket sits higher) not touching the nut (bracket sits lower) or touching both (bracket sits at the same height)
or straight rod and a sharpie to mark both edges of the bracket.. you get the idea
I'm sure you could still fix that, even without cracking the coat if it's not too far off.
and the handling will benefit from accuracy

did it the way with the bold and looks like the drive (one with dent) is kinda in between 1/32 and 1/16 higher that the other side. I could tweek till it is perfect but i think ill leave it where it is at. No point in screwing something up over a slight bit.
Looks good to me. I am just worried about how low it is sitting. It might just get scraped a bit. With a person sitting in the kart it will be even lower
I like the colors. Compared to what you had to start with it looks great!
Its got me wanting to rip apart the 285 I have and paint it up. I also threw a 212 pred on mine. I ended up cutting the seat back welds and bending it forward 3" then cleaned up the old welds and bent it back and welded it. They do fit but as you said it is tight.

I never said you beat the crap out of it....and it doesn't look that bad in the last pic....as long as the geometry is ok...you should be good to go....
I just would have prepped it to do away with dent...but I'm pretty picky...comes from being an ex custom painter......

why yes i did, maybe theyre 285 dings in my kart 
but in other news got my spindles, springs, pedals and return springs all powdercoated, front end all together just waiting on tied rods and heim joints.

Your karts stance is awesome! I wouldn't worry about the ding at all. You don't notice it really

285 dings cracked me up......but....that last pic....the spindle bracket on the left is 1"away from the frame....the right looks like it's almost touching.....are you SURE your geometry is good????? .....The right tire looks like it's leaning a bit more to me.....

They are from the factory but I wanted the lower look. Don't realy take it off asphalt so I really don't need the dampening
