Cutting Tools Question

I decided to remove some additional round bar rear bumper on the kart and get it down to the basic frame it was born with. Now I have a pneumatic cut-off tool that works well but the compressor is not up to the task. It puts out 9cfm @ 90psi which is what the tool is rated. Therefore it's cut and wait, cut and wait, and I'm getting frustrated.

Do you think a sawz-all with a metal cutting blade will do the job? Or are there any other recommendations? Never turn down the opportunity to buy another tool!

Or an angle grinder. Sawz-all blade are really expensive.

A grinder? OK, I have one of those but are you suggesting a cut-off blade be installed? Please pardon the newb questions.

cutting discs can be used, there thinner than grinding discs and are very cheap.

cut off wheels are great just don't buy the cheapo ones they tend to burst with the slightest bit of lateral movement and lets say, those pieces are moving fast.

yea plasma cutters are the right job, or you can use a poormans plasma cutter, wind your welder up to the max and cut through that steel haha

I once made my shop teacher a welding booth decoration with sheet metal and a MM 140 cranked all the way up (that's not much but it worked). I, with some help from a friend, cut out about 2 foot long male sex organs and then tacked it to the booth wall. He wasn't happy but it's all cool he's like 24 so he was able to laugh it off after a while.

you could just a oxygen/propane torch.

they burn hot and come in real handy.

Or buy a bigger air compressor

i hate saw zaws. i always wind up bending or toasting the blades.

Oxy/propane torches leave such a messy cut. If you always screw up your blades, your probably not doing something right.

I've used a small Miller plasma cutter and it was a PITA.

I call your plasma cutter and raise you a FlowJet.
