what kinda grinder you getting? i bough an hf angle grinder for 20 bucks, after using for a while and calculating how many pieces had to have there edges beveled...... i was back at hf getting a bench grinder in no time, its a great combo.

The bench grinder is great. All depends on you budget i guess.

well seeing i get $20 for mowing the lawn, may get some money for watering the neighbors plants next week, some money for fixing the governor on my dads blower, (thats what she said) some money from selling my piece of sh!t rc car parts on ebay, and possibly starting up a leaf blowing business with my friend soon yeah harbor freight. i was lookin at the $30 combo one that has some bits included. angle grinder. you see ill be welding soon.

one thing i do when i buy stuff from hf is read carefully, go through all the options, and choose the best(i know that your math teacher has been saying that for years)

if your not interested in spending another 10 bucks its fine, i know at my and your age it may be a week of waiting for the grass to grow before you get 10 bucks

ugh schooool. that reminds me along with all this research and work im doing on parts/cleaning up my work area while having mom yell at me because of she smells gas, im spending like 6 hours in school and 3-4 hours on homework plus studying. yeeeah.

and i would get the handheld one. does it have adjustable speed?

As far as i know, all angle grinders are single speed.

oh. i probably could put a resistor on somehow. but i just think they have more than one use and should be variable.

I'd go with an angle grinder first. You can do more due to its portability.

It works perfectly fine without fiddling with it. There are pretty much 3 uses: cutting, grinding, and wire brushing, neither of which i would see you needing to vary the speed for.

yea,,, im just used to my dremel. useless for anything big though.

Dremels are multi-speed because of the hundreds of bits and attatchments for them.

yup especially when they get through your jeans and go up your a$$, trust me, it happened to me. it doesnt go away for a few days.

speaking of pain i just found out there was a harbor freight in vernon ct and i went there... got an auto darkening welding helmet... and theyre cheapo grinder.

the grinder works great, exept i just learned that you should NOT touch the surface i just grinded, i have a pretty good burn on my thumb. ow.

Do you see those sparks and possibly orange metal if your digging into it? Steel doesn't do that unless it's hot.
